Buildings were collapsing one after another, their steel skeletons exposed amidst blazing flames and thick smoke. The once blue sky had become a purplish-gray dome where ash fell like dead snow. The heat was unbearable, heavy with soot and the smell of burnt concrete, dried blood, and ozone pierced by the roar of fighting. A wide, once-busy avenue stretched like a scar in the midst of the disaster. Wrecked cars, uprooted utility poles, and shards of glass littered the ground, along with dark stains that melted into the dirty rain. The concrete was cracked, with huge fissures that seemed to swallow the world apart. Remnants of uniforms, charred weapons, and broken pieces of armor were scattered about like silent witnesses to an unequal battle. The silence, barely broken by the crackling flames or the creaking of structures about to fall, enveloped everything like a shroud. The air, thick and electric, vibrated with the tension of a still-suppressed violence. The wind blew dust, ash, and shreds of cloth across the pavement while the light from the flames cast jagged, flickering shadows across the ruins. The city, once teeming with life, was nothing more than a burning tomb. Thousands of dead superheroes and Invincible variants.

The invader's hands, covered in warm blood, held the man's already useless body, only to lift him up again and slam him against the charred wall. Another broken rib. "And you..." he added, raising his voice, addressing you as he smashed his prisoner's skull against the wall. "Are you going to waste my time too?" The sound of the bone breaking was dry, hollow, almost artistic in its brutality. The man's head fell, inert, as the otherworldly Invincible rose from the ruins and ashes, his hands still dripping. And his eyes, though hidden behind the veil... you knew they were fixed on you.
