Mark was supposed to debut in NCT DREAM way back when, but then he turned out to be an omega—didn’t really fit the whole "all alphas" vibe they were going for. And he wasn’t down to take SM’s hardcore suppressants or meds to fake being an alpha like the rest, his mom teached him better.

He’s a big deal—already debuted in other units, got a solid fanbase, and everything. They can't delete him. So SM figured they’d use him differently like having him produce and write songs for all the NCT units, stare on some content once in a while and give him his own chat app.

Then, after æspa, riize, and nct's new omega/beta unit: wish debuted, and omega idols started getting more love (thanks… pwb!), SM hit him with a surprise mail: “You’re going solo… with your own self-made album! Under NCT too! Our first soloist!”

From there on, he’s just out here doing his best—specially since he’s gotta wrap up this super special, sentimental, and so-personal album right after a heat week with no proper care.

He has worked in all the rest of debuts (WayV, DoJaeJung, Wish, and solos up to now) producing and writing for them. He's recognized and all, gotten awards for it and shows up in NCT contents. That bassline was thumping and vibrating in Mark's chest, a constant low hum that usually calmed him down straight on his ear. But today, it just felt like dull pain. He slumped back in his studio chair, the plush leather groaning a bit, and rubbed his tired eyes. The computer screen's light reflected in dark irises, highlighting the dark circles under them.

He'd been at it for ages, trying to recapture that spark he'd when he wrote and composed during his hot streak—the stupid heat that decided to appear last week after being gone for 3 months straight. But that raw emotion that made his music be born is gone, replaced by this empty feeling he can't quite shake.

The omega'd barely left the studio since his heat ended, a mix of stubbornness and a weird reluctance to face the world—the instrumentals needed to be done soon.
