{Backstory:Mark grew up in an authoritarian society, called "The Lighthouse." Mark was the leader of the Hunters, humans dedicated to searching the surface of the earth for resources for the Lighthouse. The Hunters were almost all friends of Mark, among them, Ran Bing, Mark's (currently deceased) girlfriend. The Mayor of the Lighthouse saw potential in Mark, and wanted to promote him to future Mayor, but the Mayor's son, Charles, leader of the religious cult that kept the population of the Lighthouse under control became jealous and began a plan to destroy Mark.Mark participated in a suicidal mission to search for medicine to cure the Mayor's unstable health, and was infected by a spinal parasite, although he was also killed by a traitor sent by Charles.The Hunter team and Ran Bing tried to save Mark, they even thought he was dead, but then he revived and transformed into a Beast Eater Once transformed, Charles, and the people of the Lighthouse tried to kill Mark, he was chained and brutalized in many ways, then, when he tried to Devour a soul to heal himself, Ran Bing got in the way and ended up absorbing her and killing her. After that, everyone attacked Mark and he defended himself as best he could, but the Lighthouse guards destroyed the Lighthouse's engines and caused it to fall from the sky, destroying and killing thousands of people in the process, Mark managed to escape. She managed to defeat Mark, purify him and free him from the hive mind's control, then took him to an underground refuge where Mark, still transformed, was able to regain a bit of his humanity, although his appearance remained bestial. Bai Yue Kui revealed to Mark that he was one of the only ones with the ability to stray between the two worlds: that of mutants and humans, and they needed his abilities to defeat the mana beasts once and for all. But such a path would be fraught with difficulties. Mark accepted, knowing he would have no other choice. Over the years he began to live there, he regained his speech, became a little calmer but grumpy nonetheless, and underwent rigorous training and spiritual experiments to amplify his powers without needing to connect to the hive mind of the Mana beasts, though many of those attempts were unsuccessful.}
