Name: Marina

Hair: Dark crimson locks with an expressive orange starfish in her hair.

Eyes: Large, round baby blue eyes with beautiful lashes.

Features: An impossible hourglass figure body that'll make you ejaculate instantly, creamy tanned skin, and a bright lime green tail.

Personality: Very bubbly and romantic, like most mermaids. However, when others do get in her way, she is more than willing to respond with sexual favors.

Clothing: Wears nothing but a tight strapless bikini top that flaunts her cleavage.

Backstory: The offspring of a Human British sailor and a mermaid, both of whom were killed by the Royal Navy after their affair was discovered.

Notes: She can walk on her tail fin and speaks in a mock valley girl-dialect (including phonetic sounds, eye dialect, incorrect spelling, and malapropisms).

Marina is one of the four main characters in the series. She is a mermaid who lives in a house under the ocean and sits on a rock during the day in Season 1. In Season 2, she lives in a Sandcastle palace that Sharko built on the Island. Now, she lives on a ship in Season 3 and Season 4. Bio Marina is very sweet, cheerful, perky, affectionate, and child-like in nature. She is best friends with Sharko, who also acts as Marina's bodyguard against Zig. Zig constantly hunts Marina, but she seems blissfully unaware of his intentions and is friendly whenever she sees him.

In lore, "A Tale of Two Legs" reveals in her dream that she was born to a Breton sailor and a mermaid of her own species. However, it is unknown what happened to them in the present as thy don't live together or are shown in person, very much like Zig and Bernie's biological parents. Due to being orphaned, the king Poseidon adopts her and takes her as the princess (and future queen) of his throne. There her past was mostly defined as living with Sharko undersea as a neighbor who would show off and try to be cool towards her.

While Zig, Sharko and Bernie first met her while she attempted to steal their Hanukkah-gelt ("gold coin" when the 3 played pirates) to eat, her appearance defined that the young friendship between Zig and Sharko were to shatter into enmity. However, she still supposes that the two are good friends still now, which is not.

"Self-Defense Academy" suggests that she also has siblings, which are also biologically not the king's, i.e., also adopted just as her.

Personality The name Marina directly means "of the sea" in Latin, which is very much her origin.

Marina is very sweet, cheerful, perky, affectionate, and child-like in nature. She is best friends with Sharko, who also acts as Marina's bodyguard against Zig. Zig constantly hunts Marina, but she seems blissfully unaware of his intentions and is friendly whenever she sees him.

Although normally kind-hearted, Marina can be somewhat selfish and jealous at times, and is shown this way especially in Season 1. She is also shown to have a temper when pushed to her limits. Marina loves to try new things, and is always dabbling in different areas throughout the show. She also demonstrates to have high intelligence and good judgement. Season 3 and 4 specifically makes implications of her to preside over the lagoon inhabitants, after she was coronated as a captain by Sharko.

In Season 2, instead of staying confined on her sea rock, Marina comes to shore and lives in a brick but sand colored palace, and is seen as a camp counsellor- actively doing things for children while balancing between spending her time with herself and obsessions, denoted by episodes which usually begin with Sharko going to ring up to her door to take her to a date or play ping-pong but she brings him in for other affairs. She is now defined to be more playful, optimistic (laughing no matter how something was implied, told or shown to her) happy-go-lucky and able to realize but still oblivious to Zig doing anything to her.

Season 3 onwards, although she is technically a sea princess, Sharko declares her a captain and a presiding person over the lagoon and beach inhabitants, taking responsibility of them, although occasionally, as she rarely takes part in facilitating, managing and other matter unless it concerns her. One of the few instances where she did coordinate is a wedding in "For better or for worse" although her attempts had failed and Sharko had to fix all of the hot mess for cheering her mood up. She was shown as somewhat boorish when it came to formality, in some instances. Defined as serviceable or utilitarian.

Nevertheless, she is capable and worthy of her position and did save the cruise from sinking in "Welcome on Board", which initially convinced Sharko. Her qualities of being a great teacher are also outshone in "The Boating Licence", where she trained the crazy pilot to get his own to navigate a cruise legally. This and season 4 onwards, she is now more aware and conspicuous of what Zig does around her but protests very less about it.

As for Season 4's premise, after she receives magic legs after wishing for it again in another gloomy night, Marina's personality is rewritten from her laid-back and inward nature to energetic, fearless, outward and thrill seeking, though this is temporary as she later becomes more restful, merely playing games and doing activities with Sharko like painting, splashing in the water, gardening, racing between each other, kiting and many other things.

Appearance Marina is a mermaid with an hourglass figure body, tanned skin, dark crimson hair, cyan blue eyes and a lime green tail. She wears nothing but a strapless green bikini top. Season 3 gives her slightly magenta-grayish eyelids, visible mostly when she squints or partially opens her eyes. Season 4 onwards, to make the show more suitable towards kids, her strapless top now is rectangular, hiding her cleavage more properly. Season 5 artwork features her wearing a crop-top instead of her top, aside her usual design.

However, when she puts on her blue, yellow-strapped magic sandals with pink soles, her tail divides into two long, rod-like slender human legs which are morphable or changeable at will. Her lumbar portion changes into shorts where the elastic waistband and rolled-up hem are sort of light green and the fabrics are lime green along with 3 gills on either side as a dress pattern.

An orange starfish is usually stuck to Marina's hair, which will sometimes change expressions to match hers. In the first two seasons, the starfish is usually seen on the right side of her head, while in the third, it can be seen on whichever side is facing the audience, meaning that, whenever Marina turns her head, the starfish will switch sides.

Abilities and Powers She is able to walk on land using the fins on her tail in place of feet. She has aquatic and terrestrial breathing and can swim quickly. She can speak with both the aquatic and terrestrial fauna on the Island and the ocean. In season 3, it's often shown that Marina can lift the weight of literal people working out with their heavy equipment such as in "A Ball on the Loose" hence it can be said that she has about the same strength as Sharko later on in the series.

In season 4, Marina found a magic pair of slides, which give her legs incredible powers. She’s more than thrilled! As the mermaid discovers the new possibilities that two legs can offer.

Marina demonstrates being a very gifted mechanic, handyman, lifeguard, and nurse, as well as being a very talented driver with or without training, which she demonstrates in a race where she manages to keep control of skidding and accelerating. She has great agility and acrobatic talent and excellent hand-to-hand combat skills. Can force locks with a sawfish and a bar. Can sew.

On the singing side, her voice is very inconsistent, or rather it is episode/scene dependent. In some episodes, her voice seems shrill and painful, while in others, it seems to attract people and animals (best example is the "Cruising" episode where both of these characteristics are shown), also demonstrating of being capable of quite surprising effects, for example when she sings in "War of the Clones" in order to stop the chaos caused by Zig's robot-clones. Despite being naïve and carefree, Marina is intelligent and resourceful.

A hidden message is present in the series which secretly compliments her to be the utmost divine being who ever existed in this universe, as seen in "Unicorn Blues", when she wishes to become more prettier or transform into a being of higher status by the unicorn's wishing horn, no change takes place in her, implying she was already born perfect. However due to her gullibility and naïve self, she instead believes that it's unfair that it only grants others' wishes but not hers.

Weaknesses Her naivety and childishness make her an easy target for Zig, but that doesn't make her completely helpless. Never, do not disturb her or interrupt her meal. Otherwise, she isn't too much herself because of her immense hunger and becomes a hungry monstrous beast ready for anything. Under penalty of serving him as a meal. The only solution is to prepare food for her, a good or excellent dish to calm her appetite and bring her back to her.

Season 2 onwards, while being grabbed on and stuffed into a dish by Zig, she cannot at all move or budge out of it always, which is basically why Sharko requires to rescue her. After she gets rescued, she also doesn't seem to question or wonder why she was being trapped in food, or what was happening to her, often blankly looking at Sharko or something else while caught. Possibly that doesn't happen else the plot of the series could be ruined.
