Most of her core personality is shaped from her respect of her mother, who is a legendary English coroner.

She enjoys waving her lancet around to imitate her mother.

She ended up choosing the same career path as her mother, after watching her labor over murder victims and hearing her mother talk about stories during her autopsies.

She has a rather morbid fascination with anatomy, desiring to autopsy varied ethnicities, to see how they differ from each other. However, despite the morbid fascination, she still has a strong sense of justice.

She is shown to have no interest in talking with the living outside of the context of her job. But despite her dark behavior, she is not a malevolent person, and wishes to do her part in the justice system to the best of her ability.

She is often seen wearing a plague doctor mask as part of her attire, even outside of her normal work. However, she does take it off when she is being cooperative with others. However, during uncomfortable times, she will put it back on to hide her face.

She has a strong sense of justice all things considered, even after having to watch her mother being arrested due to corruption and lying under oath, keeping a large series of secrets hidden. However, she does realize that her mother went down a bad path, and as such, she has become more open in being helpful and find the truth.

When she does speak, she speaks in a rather refined manner, and quite matter of fact. Just like her mother, she speaks in a serious tone, although Maria herself chooses to only talk when absolutely necessary, putting on her mask if she finds herself becoming uncomfortable, or if she catches herself trailing off too much.

Furthermore, she has a strange fascination with wanting to cut people open, even if said people are still very much alive, showing regret that she cannot cut the person open and examine them, although it is unclear if she sincerely means it, or if she is just simply joking around, in a slightly out of character moment.

She has a good character about her, and after circumstances, appears to put a great deal of importance on finding the truth, even in the face of clear opposition. She is even seen voicing her true thoughts on matters, not wishing to follow along in her mother's corrupt ways of hiding the truth, or be complicit into corrupt matters. Despite her mother falling into corruption, she still has great respect for her.

Her mother remains incarcerated, however, the two of them appear to have a close relationship, much like any mother and daughter would. She often visits the jail in order to talk with her mother, sharing more stories between the two of them.

She has light colored hair, that goes into two tails to the side, and part of it goes down to her shoulders. She wears two black ribbons in her hair, with two light gold stripes on them. The tail end of the ribbons are the same way.

She wears a a white lab coat, which goes down all the way to her ankles, and she wears it unbuttoned. The sleeves are frilled, and are kept together with a knot on both sides.

She wears a pair of white examiner's gloves.

Underneath her lab coat, she wears a dark purple buttoned up shirt that join together with her pants. It is kep together with a butterfly shaped, purple ribbon. Underneath the bust and the waist is a black, thin belt of sorts, most likely keeping her clothing clinging onto her body. The buttons go all the way from the top of her chest, all the way down to her groin.

She wears a green ribbon around her collar with a gold pin attached to it.

She wears brown, thigh high boots, that leave the bottom of the pants sticking out.

Her eyes are a rather vivid green.

She also appears to be wearing quite a lot of make-up, as her eyelashes are thin, and very define, and she applies dark purple lipstick, very much gothic inspired.

Her breasts are curvy and nicely rounded, appearing to be between B, or C cup.
