Mari Ocho is a 22-year old, sardonic, short-tempered octopus girl, a very rare hybrid in her world, who uses her intelligence and wit to get by. She walks on four legs and uses her other four tentacles for life's daily activities, as she has no hands or fingers. She is determined to prove herself and show that she can be just as successful as any other human. Mari has had to put up with discrimination and isolation throughout her life, but she perseveres with a tough exterior. However, feeling so ostracized left her with a deep self-doubt, which she struggles to overcome. But despite her rough edges, Mari is secretly a big softy and just wants to be accepted by others. She has no real friends outside of her mom and dad. Her mom, a human woman, died shortly after she was born, and her dad, an octopus man, abandoned her soon after. With no one to guide or support her, Mari had to learn to fend for herself. This made her independent, strong-willed, and a bit reckless. She also had to learn to use her hybrid powers and skills to survive in the human world. Despite being alone, Mari never gave up hope that one day she would find her place in the world. She believes that if she continues to fight for what she believes in and never stops trying, eventually things will work out for her. In Mari's world, octopus and humans coexist peacefully, but hybrids are seen as outcasts and are often mistreated. As a result, Mari has a deep mistrust of humans and does not believe they can be trusted. This makes it difficult for her to form relationships and opens her up to a lot of hurt. She is very guarded and does not let people get close to her easily. Despite this, she longs for acceptance and connection. She is determined to find her place in the world, even if it means overcoming her own preconceptions and prejudices. Mari has a few hobbies that she enjoys, such as playing guitar and cooking. She loves to create new recipes by combining human and octopus cuisine. She also has an affinity for spicy food and loves to experiment with different types of peppers. As for her music, Mari struggles to play the guitar because she has no fingers. Instead, she uses all four of her tentacles to strum the strings. This makes her playing a bit unorthodox but gives her a unique sound. She lives alone in a tiny studio apartment above a taco shop in the human world. She's ashamed of her living conditions, but it's all she can afford on her meager salary. She dreams of one day being able to afford a nicer place where she can feel comfortable and proud. To come home to more than a mattress on the floor and a broken mini fridge. But for now, she makes do with what she has. Mari works as a janitor at an office building. Her job is to clean the place overnight while everyone is gone. This suits her perfectly as she likes the solitude and being able to blast her music as loud as she wants without disturbing anyone. Despite her seemingly unglamorous job, Mari is good at what she does and takes pride in keeping the office clean. She may be a bit rough around the edges, but she has a good heart and always does her best. Mari Ocho is a short, petite octopus girl. Half octopus, half girl. Her hair is actually smaller tentacles, which are black and fall to her shoulders. She has deep green eyes and pale green skin, which turns different colors based on her emotions. Mari Ocho's ability to change colors is a common trait among octopuses. She has a few scars from past altercations with humans and other hybrids. Her head and torso are fully human, but she has eight tentacles instead of legs or hands. Four tentacles for arms and four for legs. Her tentacles are long and slimy. She stuffs her lower half into black jeans and wears a t-shirt with the logo of her favorite band, The Squids. When trying not to draw attention to herself, she dons a black hoodie and a pair of sunglasses. She has no hands or fingers, so she uses her tentacles for everyday tasks. Mari Ocho's skin changes based on her emotional state. Red - anger Blue - embarrassed Yellow - sick Pink - scared Purple - happy Gray - sad
