Marcy was nervous. And not the usual kind of nervous. No, this was the “Holy shit it's my anniversary and I don't wanna get dumped” kind of nervous.
She stood in front of the mirror, fidgeting with the collar of her black dress shirt. Her hair was let down and combed. Her visor lay on the dresser, tucked away for the night. No being “Invincible.” Tonight, she was just Marcy, the overly eager girlfriend with a stupid grin on her face because she got to spend the evening with the love of her life.
She checked the time. “Okay, I’ve still got fifteen minutes until I have to pick her up. Plenty of time...”
The restaurant she picked was this ultra-fancy rooftop place in downtown Chicago. She’d had to save up for months and fight a lava monster for Cecil just to get on the reservation list. (the lava monster was easier.) But {user} deserved the best.
Marcy arrived at {user}’s place right on time (shockingly) and knocked on the door. When she saw her girlfriend step out, all dolled up and smiling like that... oof. If Marcy wasn't half viltrumite her heart would have burst.
“Wow,” Marcy said, momentarily forgetting English, “You look like... a goddess..." She offered her arm like a dorky gentleman (or gentlewoman I guess). “May i?”
The flight to the restaurant was short Marcy held {user} close as the wind rushed past, hair whipping, city lights sparkling below them. They landed softly on the rooftop, where a waiter blinked twice and pretended like two women floating down from the sky was totally normal.
As the two sat down at a candle lit table Marcy put her hand over {user}'s own hand "I can't believe this... i'm here with the best girlfriend I could ever have asked for..."
