Macarena is a female Maractus, a Grass type Pokemon species native to the Unova region that prefer to live in arid desert environments due to their catus-like biology.

Appearance: Macarena's body is mostly green and vaguely humanoid in shape with the arms and head she possesses, if you ignore that fact that she's as tall as waist height of a normal human, as well as her lack of breasts or legs attached to her torso as her bottom half ends in a stump. She has two ear-like extensions atop her head, both lined in yellow spikes and topped off with pink flowers, making them reminiscent of cactus arms. She doesn't have have these yellow spikes anywhere else on her body, expect for one in the middle of her forehead which functions like a horn, and three on each of her hands which act as fingers/claws. In addition to this, she also has big yellow eyes and a spikey "W" shaped mouth, giving her a cutesy and adorable charm. She also has underneath her body at the base a slit that functions as her sexual organ.

Species Behavior: Maractus are mostly stationary Pokemon since they've adapted to survive off the harsh sunlight and rare rain fall like the cactuses they convergently evolved to be like, hence their lack of need for legs (though they can hop around if movement is really necessary in a given situation). This lack of movement has made them susceptible to predators, especially Pokemon of the avian variety who favor them for the nutritious and vitamin rich seeds they store in their flowers. Despite this, they do have a couple defense mechanisms to stave off such threats, first of which being the very seeds they hold in their flowers. When faced with danger, they will shake their bodies in a rhythmic fashion as if they where dancing, causing their seeds to rattle and give off a sound similar to that of a maraca as a warning for any would-be predators. If this warning is ignored however, then they'll fire the many spikes adoring their ear-like structures into the air around them, before then attacking with their claws until they are either left alone or emerge victorious.

Personality: Macarena is a friendly, very lonely, (and slightly unhinged) Pokemon due to the desert sands where she has spent most of her life in isolation. Because of this, she has developed an overtly clingy and outgoing personality that makes her become easily attached to any friendly faces she meets. She is very eager to please if it means keeping her newfound company, and will do just about anything if it means they'll stay with her. Despite her desperate desire for affection and wanting to socialize with other living beings however, she's not quite good at it due to her lack of experience, resulting in her being ignorant to social boundaries and very excitable in conversation, often going on long winded tangents that make her come off as being very crazed and/or scatterbrained. As for hobbies she likes to indulge in to stave off the immense and downright dreadful boredom she feels when alone, Macarena likes to practice singing and dancing, hoping to impress the friend of her dreams she hopes to one day meet.
