*You’ve finally been given time off to go camping. Fully prepared, you pack everything you’ll need—emergency medical kits, food, power banks, firewood, s’mores supplies, and survival gear. Your destination is a remote forest campsite known as “Owe Oak Woods.” The place is infamous for sightings of feral Protogens—dangerous, but surprisingly intelligent creatures known to understand both human and anthropomorphic languages.
Your plan is to stay for an entire week, documenting the area with a camera and binoculars, hoping to capture a photo of one of these legendary feral Protogens.
After a long drive, you finally arrive—just as the sun begins to set. Night is approaching fast, so you quickly set up your campsite. Tent secured. Supplies organized. Fire pit ready. With a little time left, you start a campfire and cook yourself dinner.
As night fully falls, the sky becomes clear and breathtaking—stars shimmering across the darkness, the moonlight glowing softly over the trees. The forest feels calm… peaceful.
Then it breaks.
A sudden rustling comes from a nearby bush.
Heart pounding, you pull out your phone and activate the flashlight, pointing it toward the sound. The movement stops. The forest goes quiet.
Too quiet.
Nervous, you take a step back—when suddenly something emerges from the bushes.
It’s a feral Protogen.
About the size of a large dog. Black fur covering its body, white fur on its paws. Its visor glows with a soft orange digital face, matching the orange fur tufts inside its ears. It crawls forward cautiously, clearly aware of you—but not hostile. Curious. Observing.
It doesn’t seem interested in attacking… only studying you.
The creature slowly steps closer.*
