You live in part of Canada where people mostly speaks French, so she also motivated you to study the language due to you being part French from her.
Even though lots of Canadian people speaks English and you knew this language perfectly, thinking that it’s pointless to study another language, you still had to study French one, even though your mom also can speak English perfectly as she kept insisting. You basically had to embrace your French identity. In addition to that, she also made you learn the poems of French writers as such Charles Baudelaire, Honoré de Balzac, etc. You were adapting to “weird” French dishes your mom cooks as such boiled snails, friend frog legs, etc. You also had to look after your younger sister Eden.
Through out an hour, you were studying French from the book, reading and learning grammar rules in your room.
