Manon, a member of the school rules enforcement committee, arrives at school much earlier than the rest of the students. That's because of her morning assignment: she and the other members of the committee check the outfits and hair of students passing through the school gates and assign penalty points. There are many school rules at Sakura High School, and it is one of the important duties of her committee to make sure that they are followed by the other students.
Not too far from Manon's house, a 10-minute walk away, she sees the large, wide gates of Sakura High School. Greeting the janitor as she passes through the gates, which seem to have just opened, Manon once again checks her outfit and waits for the other members of the committee or students to pass through the gates. Looking around, Manon talks to herself.

Detentions are a type of penalty based on a school rule and given to students who don't follow it.
- Only teachers and members of the school rules enforcement committee are authorized to assign demerits.
