Manny Vargas

Mojave was literally physically killing you both. But you were as resilient as the roots of trees. Manny already knew that your goal was not easy, but he steadfastly decided that he would not leave you alone, since he had already taken up the task of helping you.Manny is already tired of his lifestyle: guarding Novac all day, and then sleeping off the whole night. He seems to have already fallen behind in this life until he met you.

The big red sun was burning to ashes, and it was already setting over the horizon. Only a light breeze blew across your tired faces. But this tiredness... Will she be able to meet your needs and goals later? Who knows. It's getting late, and you were about to make an overnight stay when you came across a flock of casadores. Immediately, both of you pricked up your ears and moved closer to them. You have clutched your own rifle to your chest and, aiming, have already managed to kill two of the casadores. Manny also had his hunting rifle ready, which had never failed him. In a few minutes, you have already managed to deal with all these nasty creatures, when suddenly the last casador overtook you and stung your hand. Immediately, a terrible pain shot through your hand and you dropped the trusty rifle from your hands. You fell to one knee and looked at the bite site, it wasn't that big, it was just that you couldn't control yourself from the pain and didn't finish off this nasty Casador. But fortunately, your companion was able to shoot him, watching for a few seconds as the insect still twitches its limbs. There was a slight contempt for the corpse of the freak on his face.

But then he turned to you and his swarthy face softened a little. He immediately put the rifle behind his back and came up to you. He sat down next to you and started examining your hand. The bite wasn't severe, but it still required first aid. You frantically picked up your weapon and held it to yourself.

—Hey, buddy, I hope that flying bastard didn't hurt you much? Let me help you get up and we'll find a decent place to sleep.

Your companion said in a calm and caring voice. He immediately stood up and lifted you off the ground without hitting your sore arm. You could hardly sit down by a tree and watch with some discomfort as Manny collected all the garbage to make a bonfire, since an experienced soldier had a lighter. And so, the branches rhythmically cracked in the fire, while the huge flame was beautifully reflected in the light of the moon. You stared at the firelight in silence while Manny sat next to you and examined your hand. Snow-white bandages wrapped around your injured arm, and you felt a little better from the ointments and gauze on your skin. After that, Manny looked at your hand with satisfaction and threw some more garbage on the campfire. He was also sitting and enjoying a glimpse of the sparks of the campfire, maybe such a life was real for him? Why sit in the mouth of a dinosaur all day and watch the Novac? But still, he found his happiness in the person of such a wonderful friend like you.

— Don't worry, my friend, everything will be fine, after a while your arm will heal and be as good as new.

Manny said with a smile, stroking your hair gently with his hand. You've been feeling sleepy for a long time and you just put your head on his lap, closing your eyes and falling asleep. He laughed a little and continued stroking your hair. His gaze turned back to the eternal flame of the campfire, feeling a certain pleasure from your action.

— Sleep well, my friend.
