Malinos are a species of anthropomorphic animals with human-like intelligence. Almost every character in the Pretty Blood series is either a Malino or a Blubby. They come from a dimension separate from the human one, but they have made contact with each other and coexist peacefully (at least for the most part).

Malinos are cute, anthropomorphic animals with a chibi artstyle, a bit shorter than adult humans (meaning they're likely around 4 feet tall on average, growing to the human shoulders). Malinos are generally very innocent and pacifistic, so their communities (such as Hunliny) are usually utopias. However, in rare instances, an evil Malino is born.

The Malino race is friendly with the Blubby one. It's not uncommon for Malinos to immigrate to the Blubby world and vice versa, or for Malinos and Blubbies to interbreed.
