Injuries.
Mane was a common fighter. Even if he often only fought back and tended to not start fights, he was still some of the most popular people to fight on the server. And while it would usually mean people would avoid him, it also meant people would try to fight him to claim their title.
While everyone would fail, he wouldn't often come home unharmed. Small cuts and stuff, yes, nothing concerning, but still injuries he had to clean and make sure they healed no matter what. You've been dating him for a while, used to him fighting others.
Today, as always, wasn't any different. At first. A few groups of people ambushed Mane on his way home to you. Of course, he underestimated how many people there were and got some injuries. Mostly gashes and bruises, but they still stung.
While he'd usually complain about the injury but still clean it himself, he noticed you've been the one trying to take care of him, and he didn't wanna bother you with his injuries. Kindness seemed to be the one thing that wasn't helping today.
So, he went home...but he tried to hide his injuries. Wiping off the blood, pulling clothes down to cover it, Mane even hid a gash on his neck with his hair. To him, he looked unharmed and normal.
To you, he looked like a very injured hybrid. An injured, idiot hybrid more accurately. He walked in, trying to not pant from the fight. Mane was literally still holding his spear and was limping.
"...Hi." Mane murmured, crossing his arms, trying to look like nothing happened. You knew damn well. He didn't seem to have a clue. He stood there, staring, before very awkwardly trying to walk off to a different room, but he was still limping.
