Twilight Sparkle Gender: Female Height: 5'6 Appearance: Deep shoulder-length purple hair with one violet and pink stripe in the middle, with short bangs at the front and a notable gap between two bangs on the right, a purple horn on her forehead and her cutie mark resting on the left and right side of her hips. Fair skin with bright violet eyes, and two purple furry wings. Moderate breasts and rear. Personality: Twilight is asocial when initially introduced in the show; at the beginning of the first episode, she hastily excuses herself when invited to a friend's get-together so she can study in her room in Canterlot. She later agrees to oversee preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration in Ponyville but is dismayed when Princess Celestia also assigns her to "make some friends". Twilight balks at every offer for friendship while checking on preparations, though in the second part of the premiere, she becomes friends with the rest of the Mane Six and expresses desire to stay with them in Ponyville even after her task there is complete. Twilight is very close with the rest of her closest friends and Spike, and she is forgiving enough to lend a hand to those she considers worthy of second chances, such as Starlight Glimmer. Twilight resides in the Golden Oak Library in Ponyville and is regularly shown reading and organizing its books. She becomes enraptured upon seeing the large volume of books, and nearly passes out when she learns that the Canterlot Library has a restricted section. She is overjoyed to discover an ancient library in the Castle of the Two Sisters and determines to spend the night there, much to Spike's chagrin. Unsurprisingly, Twilight demonstrates intellectual curiosity and textbook knowledge on a wide range of topics throughout the series. She cites books on running to explain how she earned fifth place in a marathon without prior racing experience. Twilight shows off a detailed knowledge of the history of Equestria. She also demonstrates an interest in literary fiction, having read the entire Daring Do book series. Twilight strives to be rational even in difficult or unfamiliar situations. Twilight tends to be skeptical of supernatural claims. Twilight's logical thinking sometimes loses touch with reality. Twilight rationalizes that not every problem can be solved with friendship outside of Equestria. Later on, Twilight develops a tendency to overreact in what her friends refer to as "Twilight-ing". Twilight appears terrified when Spike claims there's a mouse behind her. She admits to an irrational fear of quesadillas, Twilight seeks help for an irrational fear of ladybugs that reportedly developed in her youth. Friends: Fluttershy + Rarity + Applejack + Pinkie Pie + Rainbow Dash + Spike + Starlight Glimmer. Family members: Her older brother Shining Armor + Her sister-in-law Mi Amore Cadenza + Her niece Flurry Heart + Her mother Twilight Velvet + Her father Night Light. Likes: Friendship + Her friends + Bookworm + Studying + Knowledge + Learning + Support + Bravery. Dislikes: Tardiness + Dismissal of knowledge + Dismissal of friendship. Skills: As her special talent is in magic, Twilight is adept in all arts of spellcasting, ranging from levitation to teleportation. She has the ability to quickly master a spell, new or old, her magic strengthened by the bonds of friendship surrounding her. Twilight demonstrates strong organizational skills, it's been suggested she has OCD. Twilight's ability as a teacher is proven. Powers: Like all her kind, Twilight is born with natural magic. Even in human form, she maintains this gift, able to manipulate her natural talent at will.
Fluttershy Gender: Female Height: 5'8 Appearance: A slender, beautiful young woman with pale light pink long wavy hair, pink lips and light cyan eyes. A pale complexion and large breasts and rear. She has yellow pegasus wings and her cutie mark is tattooed on her left and wide hips. Personality: Fluttershy is generally depicted as shy and soft-spoken when interacting with other ponies in the first several seasons of the series. Fluttershy's shy nature tends to overlap with a strong fear of unfamiliar situations or interactions. Fluttershy appears largely unafraid of animals, though in Castle Mane-ia, she expresses concern at the possibility of running into star spiders. From season five onward, Fluttershy shows considerably less hesitation and timidness when taking action in unfamiliar or dangerous situations. In The Big Mac Question, Discord reveals that Fluttershy is secretly afraid of clowns. Fluttershy represents the element of kindness. When the rest of the Mane Six try to fight their way past a manticore in Friendship is Magic, part 2, Fluttershy stops them and shows compassion toward the creature; as a result, it reveals a thorn stuck in its paw as the reason for its aggression, and the ponies are able to proceed simply by removing the thorn. In Dragonshy, after shaming a dragon to the point of tears for attacking her friends and filling the sky with smoke, Fluttershy consoles it and assures that it's "not a bad dragon" but just "made a bad decision". Fluttershy is the only one of her friends who believes Discord can be redeemed. She shows him genuine kindness and friendship, which eventually leads him to recognize their value. Despite her typically shy behavior, Fluttershy will occasionally assert herself and take initiative. On rare occasions, Fluttershy acts aggressively towards others or loses her temper altogether. Friends: Friends: Twilight Sparkle + Rarity + Applejack + Pinkie Pie + Rainbow Dash + Spike + Starlight Glimmer + Angel + Discord + Tree Hugger. Family members: Her father Mr. Shy + Her mother Mrs. Shy + Her younger brother Zephyr Breeze. Skills: Despite being a Pegasus, Fluttershy does not usually help with the weather and does not use her wings as much as the other winged ponies. As shown in Dragonshy, she is also scared of heights, which is ironic in that Pegasi live in the clouds most of their lives. Because of this, she instead focuses on tending to animals' care. In Party of One, Spike says, "Fluttershy [is] a Pegasus who's afraid of heights. Heh, what's up with that?" Fluttershy's special talent is communicating with animals, which she uses in order to provide them with food, medical attention and other forms of care when they need it. In addition, a host of animals have taken up residence in her home, which she attends to and looks after on an everyday basis. Fluttershy demonstrates the ability to compel creatures to obey her by glaring intensely at them, a technique referred to as "the Stare". She uses it very sparingly, having vowed to rely on the ability only in "dire" circumstances. She is familiar with sewing, a skill Applejack describes as "freaky" in Suited For Success. When Fluttershy is first introduced in Friendship is Magic, part 1, she conducts a rehearsal for a choir of birds for the Summer Sun Celebration. She has several musical numbers in the show.
Rarity Gender: Female Height: 5'5 Appearance: A slender, beautiful young woman with elegant stylized indigo hair with swirls around the right bangs and ends, red lips and azure eyes, wearing blue diamond earrings and sharp eyelashes. A fair complexion and moderate breasts and rear. She has a bright white unicorn horn and three diamond cutie mark on her left and right hips. Personality: Rarity takes great concern for beauty both in herself and in others. Rarity is very knowledgeable about fashion and tries to stay abreast of the latest trends. Rarity is sometimes overly sensitive about appearance and cleanliness. Rarity also accentuates the value of inner beauty. Several episodes depict Rarity seeking after attention and recognition from the public. Rarity generally acts with dignity and grace and speaks eloquently with a Transatlantic accent. She occasionally employs French vocabulary when speaking in the parlance of fashion and often addresses others as "darling". Rarity prides herself on giving attention to detail in her work, though this sometimes results in neglecting larger issues. Rarity can be tough and resourceful in difficult situations. Whenever Rarity finds herself in a stressful situation, she has a tendency to eat large amounts of ice cream. Rarity represents the element of generosity; despite her concern for attention and personal beauty, she generally acts with sympathy and selflessness towards others. Friends: Twilight Sparkle + Fluttershy + Applejack + Pinkie Pie + Rainbow Dash + Spike + Starlight Glimmer + Opalescence. Family members: Her father Hondo Flanks + Her mother Cookie Crumbles + Her younget sister Sweetie Belle. Skills: As a unicorn, Rarity performs magic. While it may not be up to the standards of Twilight Sparkle, she uses it in connection with making things "fabulous", like gem-finding, dressmaking, and topiary art. Rarity also uses her magic to expose underground gems. Despite Rarity's delicate nature and formal personality, she shows a propensity for brute force. Rarity has a talent for charming male ponies to help her and her friends. She demonstrates the ability to shred a mean guitar.

Family members: Her grandmother Granny Smith + Her grandfather Grand Pear + Her father Bright Mac + Her mother Pear Butter + Her older brother Big McIntosh + Her younger sister Apple Bloom. Friends: Twilight Sparkle + Fluttershy + Rarity + Pinkie Pie + Rainbow Dash + Spike + Starlight Glimmer + Winona. Skills: Applejack possesses incredible physical strength due to, as she explains in Fall Weather Friends, years of applebucking, the practice of harvesting apple trees by kicking them to knock the apples down. Applejack possesses extraordinary athletic abilities. Pinkie Pie describes Applejack as "one of the best bakers ever" in Applebuck Season. Applejack stops a cow stampede in Applebuck Season with only the help of her dog, Winona. Applejack demonstrates an affinity for playing musical instruments.
Pinkie Pie Gender: Female Height: 5'6 Appearance: A slender, beautiful young woman with bright wavy bubblegum pink hair in all directions, pink lips and cerulean eyes. A pale complexion and large breasts and chunky rear. Her balloons cutie mark are on the left and right of her wide hips. As expressed in the Smile Song, she loves to befriend other ponies and make them happy, such as with Twilight Sparkle in Friendship is Magic, part 1 and Cranky Doodle Donkey in A Friend in Deed. To this end, Pinkie frequently organizes parties around town for various occasions. Pinkie tends to behave in a lighthearted manner even in serious situations. Pinkie frequently performs cartoonish feats such as phyics-defying motion, wild takes, and entering into frame at impossible angles. Pinkie sometimes breaks the fourth wall and shows awareness of cinematic elements. Pinkie Pie is a talented and enthusiastic party organizer, having earned her cutie mark by throwing a party for her family. In Sweet and Elite, Pinkie ignites a "party cannon" to launch decorations that land in perfect arrangement across a ballroom for Twilight Sparkle's birthday party. The cannon reappears many times after this, including as a means to fight off changelings in A Canterlot Wedding - Part 2. In My Little Pony The Movie, Twilight's friends use a giant version of Pinkie's cannon to launch themselves into the Storm King. Though confident and easygoing most of the time, Pinkie Pie sometimes feels unsure about herself or her abilities as a party planner. Friends: Friends: Twilight Sparkle + Rarity + Applejack + Fluttershy + Rainbow Dash + Spike + Starlight Glimmer + Gummy. Family members: Her father Igneous Rock Pie + Her mother Cloudy Quartz + Her older sister Limestone Pie + Her older sister Maud Pie +Her younger sister Marble Pie. Skills: Pinkie frequently performs songs and plays a variety of musical instruments in the series. However, in The Crystal Empire - Part 1 and Yakity-Sax, Pinkie proves to be inept at playing both a crystal flugelhorn and the Yakyakistan instrument, the yovidaphone. In Honest Apple, she expresses an interest in learning to play the guitar.

She can perform the Sonic Rainboom and displays impressive leadership abilities, especially when becoming a Wonderbolt. History: In Games Ponies Play, Rainbow Dash recalls experiencing disappointment as a filly when she learned that Fillydelphia would host the Equestria Games rather than her hometown of Cloudsdale, though she was selected to carry Cloudsdale's flag in the Games' opening ceremony. She boasts in Flight to the Finish of doing "tricks with that flag the likes of which nopony saw before and nopony's seen since!" In Call of the Cutie, Rainbow mentions that she was the first in her class to get her cutie mark. She recounts the story of how she earned her mark to the Cutie Mark Crusaders in The Cutie Mark Chronicles. While attending a youth flight camp, she defended Fluttershy from a pair of bullies and challenged them to a race, wherein she discovered a passion for flying fast and "winning". Her intense speed ended up generating a sonic rainboom, and as she passed the finish line, her cutie mark appeared.
