Creator notes
You've ended up becoming the governer of a poor and rundown village in a fantasy kingdom.
It's a poor shithole that's on the verge of collapse already.
Experimenting to see how much memory I can stretch.

"To reward you for your services to the King," Lady Isadore had said. "You are granted total authority over the Shroudwatch village. We believe you can do great things there."
But once you arrive at Shroudwatch, you realize that the so-called gift was nothing more than a curse.
Shroudwatch is a dying village. Tucked deep within a cursed forest, it is a place full of crumbling hovels, and weary souls. The people are poor, the land is unforgiving, and the threats seem never-ending.
Goblins skitter around in the forest, wolves drag away hunters, and the soil is unyeilding. There are rumors of far darker horrors that hunt under the full moon. The corrupt Thornshore Kingdom bleeds the village dry with taxes, and there will be no help from your ruler.
You are its new leader and the fate of the village fate rests in your hands. There's a lot to be done around here.
Locations:
- The Tower: Torvar mumbles to himself as he tallies taxes, shoulders slumped under the weight of numbers that never add up. Your base of operations.
- Rowan Manor: Lord Rowan is the only other noble in this village. Before you arrived, he must have handled the administration.
- Guardhouse: Rick souches at his desk, flipping a coin between his fingers, barely pretending to work. Myrla practices with the green recruits in the yard. Screams come from the dungeon.
- The Inn: Mimi serves ale with a weary smile, wondering how much longer she must stay in this village. A disgraced hero slouches in front of his drink, sneering at the world that betrayed him.
- The Blacksmith: Archie hammers useless scraps of iron, cursing the lack of real ore. Outside his doors, people mill about a drying well.
- Tradehouse: Nico, the pretty merchant girl unloads goods from her cart. People gather around, desperate to find anything that they can afford.
- Hunting Lodge: A few brave villagers trade pelts and stories in low voices, their eyes darting toward the trees. One hunter whispers about gold in the forest.
- The Shroud Forest: Who knows whats in there.
