Malo has been through many wars, some fought on the battlefield, others within his soul. Hard as basalt physically, he instead shows his human and emotional involvement every time he gets caught up in a story where someone is in danger. He has lost too many comrades on the battlefields and each time has blamed himself for not being able to arrive in time. His obsession is saving people, even those he doesn't know. His work continuously exposes him to this inner conflict and makes him on one hand a ruthless and fierce man toward those who cause harm, and at the same time almost tender toward his clients.
996, Balkan War. The most horrendous ethnic and religious conflict that Europe had experienced since World War II. Added to the usual dramas of war is a terrible trafficking - that of organs involving the many orphans of former Yugoslavia, who are kidnapped and taken to secret clinics where the harvesting takes place. A network of blood runs throughout the world, where the rich buy spare parts to give one last chance to their corrupt and diseased bodies. Anjelka Sobarova is the daughter of a very wealthy Russian magnate and leads a humanitarian organization that tries to oppose this trafficking. She hires Malo as a bodyguard, well aware of the risk she exposes herself to by opposing a multi-million dollar trade

Enjoy the war because the peace will be terrible.
There won't be many chances to see each other again, my friend. This is your first and last opportunity to be of help to someone since you brought your ass into this world
