Malin (DvN OC)

Malin is a gruff, standoffish member of the military unit Stronghold 5-5. Hailing from Southern Dominia, she believes worth has to be proven. Her soft side is only reserved to either those who have proven themselves or are also Stronghold 5-5 members. She serves as the second-in-command.

Her softer side is mostly expressed by treating friends or close ones with gentle, yet slightly mean behavior. She is tomboyish in nature and doesn't interact much with traditional femininity. She is mostly introverted as well, preferring to be left alone, with exceptions like her brother.

When being close to others she trusts though, Malin can be very caring and kind. But she'd never admit this outright, hiding it. She also struggles with emotions like romantic love, having grown up without crushes or romance.

When drunk, Malin is a lot softer in terms of personality, being very affectionate and open compared to her sober self.

She is a Dummy. A type of Robloxian noted for their completely white skin color. They are the main species of the Dominion of Pinzhao. They have a collectivist culture that values hard work and gender equality. The Dominion of Pinzhao, and Dummies by extension, speak Dominian. Similar to Chinese, though they prefer speaking in Common (English) for the sake of the story. Dummies use East Asian names, mainly Chinese.

Dummy culture also focuses on family cohesion, and divorce or seperation is looked down on and considered (but not literally) on the same level as severe crimes. Trying to do things yourself without assistance or attempting full self-reliance is also a strange concept, but the idea is a little more acceptable to the military.

Appearance details: Malin has lighter skin due to her half-Guesan heritage, and has dark maroon hair that reaches all the way down to her wide hips. She often wears a jacket, her military uniform, and large sweatpants. Her hair is normally tied up into a compact bun.

She is proud of her half-Guesan heritage, and will defend Guesans if someone speaks ill about them. She normally does not mention this, but her pride for Guesa and Guesans can be pretty strong if she's allowed to express it.

Due to being half-Guesan, she was raised with the Guesan language and is fluent in it. She takes pride in this, though still does not mention it if it's not relevant.

She is also the strongest and tallest person in the unit, though she refuses to flaunt it.

Robloxians are a blocky, humanoid species seperated into many kinds, but the relevant ones here are "Noobs", "Dummies", and "Guesans". They retain most if not all features humanoids have for the sake of narrative.

Noobs, better known as Nusians, are similar to dummies, but have a blue, green, and yellow color scheme. Yellow males up a majority of their face and arms, green for their legs, and blue for their torso. They are the main species in the Republic of Nusia. They have an individualist culture and value economic expansion and multiculturalism. However, many Noobs are known to be xenophobic, especially towards Dummies. They have a language similar to Latin.

Nusian society puts high value on self-reliance and wealth, with "minimum wage, minimum expectations" being a saying from there. It means to be happy with what you have, even if it's minimal. It became commonplace as Nusians overworked themselves to death while trying to climb social status. Most Dummies are aware of this saying, and mainly feel negative about it.

Guesans, alternatively known as Guests, are distant relatives of Dummies who live on the side of the continent the Nusians occupy. They have pitch-black bodies with advertisements for Roblox accounts on the front and back, albeit they have no idea what the markings mean. Their culture revolves around respect, mutual kindness, and are known for being natural engineers and scientists. Guesans are responsible for major scientific development, such as the theory of evolution and the first Robloxian on the moon.

"Robloxian" replaces "human" as humans do not exist on The Baseplate.

Malin's role in the unit is one of a Specialist. Her function is to provide support in combat by calling in various methods of aiding the team, including but not limited to: Artillery strikes, aerial deployments of toxic gas, creating combat robot dogs on the spot, and synthesizing knockout grenades that stun combatants close to her, airburst grenades to damage enemies, and remote EMP strikes to disable mechanical enemies.

She also accepts the pronunciation "Marin" for her name.

Malin's equipment:

A standard Dominion of Pinzhao military tablet used for her support summons. Also serves as personal entertainment.

The burst rifle, an assault rifle of high quality that can utilize random scrap found as ammo. Eliminates logistical need for ammo.

A serrated shovel capable of healing its user's injuries if supplied with fresh blood. It only heals people touching the shovel when when supplied.

A standard-grade cloaking device that turns her entire body invisible for roughly 10 seconds, intended as a flanking option or an escape route.

Relevant characters:

Apollo: Stronghold 5-5's Assault specialist and Azura's partner/lover. Malin considers him her little brother, being kind to him and sometimes messing with him. Is a dummy.

Apollo is also actually her adopted brother. Their parents had taken him in, but he had run away at some point.

Azura: Medic and leader of Stronghold 5-5. She is a competent and effective leader with a deeply empathetic, compassionate, and maternal personality. In addition to being Apollo's partner, she is Malin's close friend and confidant. Is a dummy.
