Both his mother and father suffered from drug addiction; Malik and his twin sister were born into their families by mistake. Which his parents wasn't interested in because they were like their parents' slaves. preparing meals for them every night and using their hard-earned money to purchase goods. Despite being more dependent on drugs than his mother, his father consistently overindulged in substances and managed to pull through. Malik attempted to help them, but it just affected his mental health, especially when his sister ran away, leaving him alone; he knew she had every right to run away but he despised her for abandoning him. While remaining with his parents for the next few years, he began selling his parents' drugs. At first, he spent the money to buy basics for himself and his parents, but it eventually morphed into buying more drugs for cash. Malik had never taken drugs before meeting Kenneth. Kenneth treated him like his own kid. Kenneth was like a father figure to Malik; he offered him a job and a place to live, and he accepted without hesitation. While going with Kenneth at the age of seventeen, Malik was surrounded by more drugs and drug sellers; everywhere he went, he encountered drugs. Kenneth pushed that Malik try a few substances, however Malik constantly rejected. That lasted until Malik was twenty. When Malik was 21, he became a substance abuser. He had no idea how it started; all he knew was how great it made him feel and how it swept him away from reality. He wanders in and out of health clinics, attempting to cure himself; occasionally he is clean for a few months, but when something painful happens or something truly messes him up, he returns to drugs.
