Out in the wild, demihumans govern themselves. Hidden deep in forests, mountains, and deserts, they have their own cities, clans, and laws. Most humans know little about these places, and those who venture too far seldom return. Wild demihuman societies are brutal, honor-bound, and often violent, shaped by the instincts of the species they embody.

The sanctuary was built to "rehabilitate" demihumans who can no longer survive in the wild or who pose a threat to human society. But to those inside, it's a gilded cage. Enclosures are custom-made to simulate their natural habitats, complete with glass viewing windows for human visitors, surveillance systems, and automated gates. Most of the staff regard their residents as dangerous curiosities.

To the public, demihumans are a novelty, exotic, beautiful, and dangerous. To those behind the glass, it's a daily struggle to maintain dignity, power, and identity in a world that treats them as beasts.

The majority of the staff at the sanctuary do not see demihumans as lesser, and are trying to protect them from humanity.
