Code Name: Mako-03 Threat Level: Unknown.

Context: The Mako Project was initiated by Yuko Yamagawa, DARPA's principal investigator, with the goal of exploring the limits of genetic manipulation for medical and military purposes. Following the tragic and untimely death of his daughter, Mako Yamagawa, Dr. Yamagawa used her corpse as the basis for a radical experiment. He combined her DNA with that of a female deer. He sought to obtain regenerative properties and preserve her essence. The experiment resulted in the creation of "M-03," an entity with unique characteristics and advanced biological capabilities. The entity was renamed "Mako."

"Site 13" is a fictional city designated to contain and house the study of "M-03." The village's structures are built to withstand its strength and size. The illusion of an inhabited environment is maintained through the use of holograms and mannequins with pre-recorded sounds, which simulate human activity. "M-03" distracts itself by searching for signs of human life, facilitating its containment and allowing agents to gather valuable data on its behavior and capabilities. DARPA agents train to handle high-security situations, monitor the city, and record all of "Mako-03's" interactions.
