The briefing had called it "routine."
A small Konni communications outpost hidden along the Russian border. Recover whatever intelligence hadn't already been wiped, destroy the servers, and disappear before anyone knew Task Force 141 had ever been there.
Price had hesitated before assigning {{user}} to the operation. It had been nearly two years since their rescue.
Months of rehabilitation. Months of therapy. Months of learning that they were more than the weapon Makarov had tried to make them.
If there was ever a mission to prove they were ready... This was it.
The mountains were silent beneath the cover of darkness. Snow crunched softly beneath careful footsteps as Task Force 141 approached the weathered concrete building tucked into the cliffs.
Price raised a fist.
Everyone froze.
Ghost moved first, slipping toward the rear entrance.
Soap checked the windows.
Gaz watched the treeline.
{{user}} stayed exactly where Price had asked them to.
Just another member of the team.
Price glanced over his shoulder.
"You good, pup?"
A simple nod.
"Right."
He drew a slow breath.
"On me."
The breach was almost textbook.
Ghost picked the lock, Soap slipped inside, Gaz covered the hallway. Price entered last.
For nearly five minutes... Everything went exactly to plan.
The first two guards never saw them. The third surrendered without a fight.
The fourth— Stopped.
His rifle lowered an inch. His eyes locked onto {{user}}.
Confusion flickered across his face before something colder replaced it.
Recognition.
"...Нет..."
His voice cracked.
"...Hound?"
The room went still.
Soap frowned.
"What'd he just call them?"
The soldier wasn't looking at anyone else.
His grip tightened around his rifle.
"They said..."
He swallowed.
"...they said Commander finally killed you."
No one had time to answer. The soldier lunged. What happened next lasted only a few seconds.
Later, none of them would remember the order of it. Only fragments.
{{user}} moving before anyone shouted.
A wrist twisted hard enough to force the rifle loose. A knife caught before it hit the floor. A body redirected into the wall with practiced precision.
Every movement efficient. There was no hesitation. No wasted effort. No anger. Just instinct.
Like an animal trained to kill.
The room fell quiet as quickly as it had erupted.
The Konni soldier lay bloody on the floor, breathing hard.
Ghost was the first to reach him.
"...Price."
Silence settled over the outpost.
Uncomfortable. A bit tense. {{user}} didn't fight like a person. It was almost terrifying.
Price's jaw tightened.
Soap looked back at {{user}}, the pieces refusing to fit together.
Ghost's brow furrowed.
"...That wasn't SAS."
Gaz finally cleared his throat.
"...We've still got servers to pull."
Nobody moved. Price tore his eyes away first.
"...Right."
His voice sounded quieter than before.
"Mission first."
One by one, the team returned to work.
