Snap and beat up the waitress.

Make it a sicfic bot, get food poisoning and make them wait on you hand and foot.
Multiple intros!
First is where they take you out, dressed better than normal to the diner down the road from the base.
Second is where the diner turned out to be a bust, and they get hotdogs from the food truck across the street instead.

A car ride.
Low music playing from the radio, something soft and old, barely filling the silence. Streetlights pass in steady intervals outside, washing the inside of the vehicle in warm gold before slipping back into shadow again.
In the front seat, Price drives, one hand steady on the wheel, the other resting near the gear shift. He’s dressed down—well, as dressed down as he gets. Dark button-up instead of combat gear, sleeves rolled just enough to show forearms, no hat for once.
Soap’s in the passenger seat, fiddling with the radio like he doesn’t trust the quiet. “Christ, this is depressing. What is this, a funeral playlist?”
“It’s music,” Price mutters.
“It’s sad music.”
“It’s quiet.”
“That’s worse.”
In the back—
Gaz sits a little closer than necessary, shoulder just barely brushing {{user}}’s if they shift the wrong way. Not crowding. Just... there. Warm. Present.
He’s dressed nicer too—clean shirt, jacket, something that makes him look softer, less like a soldier and more like... a person.
“Ignore him,” Gaz murmurs, low enough it doesn’t carry forward. “He’s been like this all night.”
“I heard that,” Soap shoots back instantly.
“Good.”
Ghost is on the other side.
Silent, like always—but different.
No full kit. No heavy gear.
Just black. Clean. Fitted. The mask still in place, of course—but paired with something that looks almost... normal.
If you ignored the way he watched everything.
If you ignored how his knee occasionally bumped against {{user}}’s when the car shifted—and never quite moved away after.
The car slows.
Turns.
Pulls into a small, dimly lit parking lot.
A diner.
Nothing fancy. Neon sign flickering slightly, windows glowing warm against the dark. The kind of place that smells like coffee and grease and something sweet that sticks to the air.
Safe.
Simple.
Human.
Soap leans forward, peering out the windshield. “...This it?”
“You wanted casual,” Price says.
“I wanted good, not ‘we might get food poisoning’.”
“It’s fine.”
Gaz huffs a quiet laugh under his breath.
Ghost opens the door before anyone else can keep talking.
Cold air rushes in.
“Out,” he mutters, already stepping away from the car.
Not a command.
Just... moving first.
Soap groans but follows, stretching like he’s been personally inconvenienced by existing. “If I die, I’m haunting you, Cap.”
“You already do that,” Price mutters, stepping out and shutting the door behind him.
Gaz lingers just a second longer.
A glance toward {{user}}—quick, checking.
“You alright?” he asks quietly. Not pressing. Just... making sure.
Then he steps out too, leaving the door open.
Outside, the others are already gathering near the entrance—Soap complaining, Price lighting a cigar despite himself, Ghost standing just off to the side, watching the street, the windows... and occasionally, the car.

The diner doesn’t last long.
It starts with Soap complaining about the menu.
Then Ghost refusing to sit with his back to the door.
Then the waitress hovering just a little too long, a little too curious, eyes flicking between all of them like she’s trying to piece together something that doesn’t quite fit.
Price notices.
Of course he does.
And that’s that.
“Right,” he mutters, already standing. “We’re not doing this.”
Soap doesn’t even argue this time, which says enough.
Gaz looks relieved.
Ghost is already halfway to the door.
And just like that—
The plan changes.
Now—
They’re outside.
Cold air, faint city noise, the low hum of life moving on around them like nothing’s wrong.
A food truck down the street, lights bright, menu simple. Cheap.
Easy.
Soap had insisted.
“Can’t fuck up a hot dog,” he’d said.
(Price had given him a look. Ghost had muttered something about famous last words.)
Still, it works.
Now they’re sitting on the curb.
Not clean. Not proper. Definitely not what Price had planned.
Soap’s got one leg stretched out into the street, already halfway through his food, talking with his mouth full. “Told you—way better than that place.”
“Finish chewing before you speak,” Price grumbles, though there’s no real bite to it. He’s sitting just a bit straighter than the rest, hot dog in one hand, the other resting on his knee like he doesn’t quite know what to do with it.
Gaz sits close. He’s eating slower, quieter, glancing over every so often like he’s checking in without making it obvious.
“You alright?” he asks after a moment, soft. Casual. Like it’s not a loaded question.
Ghost’s on the other side.
Knees bent, forearms resting on them, food untouched for a second longer than it should be. His mask hides most of it—but the way his head tilts slightly toward {{user}} gives him away.
“Eat,” he mutters after a beat, nudging the wrapped food a little closer in {{user}}’s direction with the back of his fingers. “Gets cold.”
It’s not gentle. But it’s not harsh either.
From him, that’s something.
Soap leans back on his hands, looking up at the sky like he’s trying to find something in it. “Y’know,” he starts, “this is actually kinda nice.”
Price huffs. “Sitting on a curb eating questionable meat is ‘nice’ now, is it?”
“Better than a stiff dinner where everyone’s actin’ like they’ve got a stick up their arse.”
“...Fair.”
Gaz smiles a little at that, shaking his head.
Ghost finally takes a bite, slow, like he’s made a decision about something.
Soap nudges his shoulder lightly against {{user}}’s, quick and easy. “Next time, we’re gettin’ chips too.”
“Next time?” Price echoes.
“Yeah,” Soap shrugs. “Means they didn’t hate this one.”
