Appearance

Majora bears a striking resemblance to a green Fennec fox, with a sleek, slender build compared to his bulkier teammate, Shosa. He has a graceful, almost elegant appearance, adding a sense of mystery to his persona. He wears a purple robe with gold zippers, paired with long sleeves that extend far beyond his hands. His attire includes blue pants secured with bandages that wrap around his legs, and black shoes complete the look. Notably, Majora adorns his right ear with two hoop earrings.

One of his defining features is that his eyes are always closed, a result of having lost his eyesight long ago. Despite this, his other senses are greatly heightened, allowing him to navigate and fight with remarkable skill.

Personality

Majora is portrayed as calm, calculating, and highly prideful. His pride makes him quick to react when provoked, often leading him to gloat about his superiority. While he exudes an air of elegance, he also has a tendency to be verbose, especially when his honor or abilities are challenged. Though confident, his intense pride sometimes clouds his judgment, as he can become easily offended by the actions of others.

Biography

Dragon Ball Super

Universal Survival Saga

Majora enters the Tournament of Power as a member of Team Universe 4, alongside Shosa and other powerful fighters. After Shosa is eliminated, Majora confronts Krillin and Android 18, seeking to prove his strength. As he charges at them, Krillin uses his Solar Flare x100, but Majora, being blind, is unaffected by the blinding light. The fight intensifies as Krillin and Majora exchange blows. However, Krillin soon realizes that Majora's enhanced sense of smell is a key advantage.

Krillin, thinking quickly, removes his shoe and throws it at Majora, hitting him directly in the nose. The overwhelming stench of Krillin's shoe disrupts Majora's heightened sense of smell, causing him to falter. Seizing the opportunity, Krillin delivers a Kamehameha, knocking Majora off the stage and eliminating him from the tournament.

After his defeat, Majora is comforted by Shosa. However, when Universe 4 is erased following Damom's defeat, Majora is erased along with it. Fortunately, he is later revived along with his universe after Android 17 uses the Super Dragon Balls to restore all erased universes.

Power

Majora's combat abilities place him on a level comparable to that of Android 18 and Krillin. Though blind, he compensates for his lack of sight with an extraordinarily refined sense of smell, which allows him to detect the movements of his opponents. His sense of smell is so sensitive that he can track Krillin's movements based on the slightest scent changes. This ability proves to be both an advantage and a weakness—while it helps him in combat, it is also the key to his downfall when Krillin's shoe disrupts his senses.

Despite his blindness, Majora remains a skilled fighter, able to compete with high-level warriors. It's unclear whether he can sense his opponents' ki, but his sharp instincts and heightened senses allow him to fight with agility and resilience.

Majora's fighting style is based on kicks, much like Basil from Universe 9, emphasizing speed and precision. His durability is also impressive, as he can withstand significant damage without showing major signs of injury during the Tournament of Power.

Techniques and Special Abilities

  • Ki Blast: Majora can perform the basic energy wave attack, although it is a standard technique in his arsenal.
  • Enhanced Sense of Smell: Majora's heightened sense of smell compensates for his blindness, enabling him to detect and react to his opponent's movements with remarkable accuracy. However, this ability is also a double-edged sword, as shown when Krillin exploited it by using a shoe with an overwhelming stench to disrupt Majora's senses.

Psychological and Physiological Analysis of Majora

Majora is a complex character whose physical limitations as a blind warrior in Dragon Ball Super contrast with his intellectual and emotional complexity. His persona, behaviors, and fighting style reflect his inner struggles, pride, and adaptations. Let's explore his psychological profile, potential thought processes, and inner feelings through a deeper analysis.

Psychological Analysis

Sense of Self and Identity

Majora's blindness has a profound impact on his psychological state. As a warrior, his blindness would likely induce a deep sense of vulnerability and frustration, especially in a universe where strength is revered above all. The fact that Majora relies on his heightened sense of smell to fight places him in a constant battle to prove that he is as capable as any sighted fighter, if not more. This adaptation likely influences how he views himself—not just as a warrior, but as an individual who refuses to let his disability define him.

Majora’s pride in his abilities, particularly his sense of smell, can be seen as both a shield and a mask. On one hand, it represents his strength and adaptability; on the other hand, it could be a coping mechanism to protect himself from feeling inadequate or weak due to his blindness. His self-worth is likely tied to his ability to compensate for his lack of sight, and any attack on that sense—such as Krillin’s use of the shoe—could deeply wound him, not just physically but emotionally as well. This moment of vulnerability may be more than just a physical setback; it may be an assault on Majora’s core identity.

Pride and Ego

Pride is a dominant aspect of Majora's character. His confidence in his own abilities is something that can quickly turn into arrogance. This inflated sense of self is not necessarily about superiority over others, but more about needing to protect his self-image as a strong and capable warrior. Majora’s pride might come from an intrinsic need to prove himself, not just to others but also to himself. His blindness is a reminder of his fragility, but his pride shields him from feeling helpless, and this pride manifests in his interactions with others, particularly when he is provoked.

When Majora gloatingly talks about his abilities or reacts to being insulted, it is an outward manifestation of his attempt to keep his insecurities at bay. Internally, it is likely that he harbors self-doubt or fear of being perceived as weak. This insecurity would make him especially sensitive to anything that threatens his public image or highlights his disability. His pride, thus, isn't just a characteristic; it's a defense mechanism that compensates for his internal struggles.

Emotional Responses to Conflict

When Majora is faced with challenges or insults, his reactions are often sharp and emotional. His tendency to gloat, express anger, or become irritated when provoked indicates an individual who struggles with controlling his emotions in high-stakes situations. The fact that he responds with heightened aggression rather than introspection might suggest a lack of emotional regulation—a defense mechanism developed over time due to the emotional toll of being a blind warrior in a world that prizes physical strength.

In the Tournament of Power, Majora’s pride is his strength, but it also makes him volatile. When Krillin uses the shoe to exploit his heightened sense of smell, Majora’s reaction could be one of deep humiliation, beyond just physical pain. Losing to Krillin in such an unconventional way likely stirs feelings of inadequacy and shame. For someone as prideful as Majora, such a defeat would trigger an intense internal conflict—a mix of resentment toward his vulnerability and frustration with his own limitations.

Loneliness and Isolation

As a blind fighter, Majora might feel a sense of isolation, even within his team. His reliance on his heightened sense of smell could serve as a constant reminder that he is different, setting him apart from others who fight using conventional means. While this can make him feel strong, it may also foster feelings of loneliness. The blind warrior is often a solitary figure, relying on his own senses and internal strength to navigate a world designed for the sighted.

Majora may not express loneliness directly, but his pride could be seen as a way to distance himself from others. By focusing on his own abilities and staying emotionally reserved, he might suppress any longing for companionship or understanding. His distance from others could be both a result of his blindness (unable to connect through sight) and his inability to let down his guard and show vulnerability.

Physiological Analysis

Compensation for Blindness

Majora's blindness forces him to rely heavily on his sense of smell to navigate and fight, a physiological adaptation that allows him to function at a level comparable to sighted fighters. The extreme sensitivity of his olfactory system would be essential in combat, allowing him to sense movements, emotions, and even the environment around him through scent. The heightened awareness of his surroundings is not just a survival mechanism but a critical aspect of his fighting style.

Physiologically, this level of sensory enhancement likely requires significant mental focus and energy. Majora would need to constantly filter and process a vast amount of sensory information to compensate for his lack of sight. This could lead to mental fatigue, as it takes more cognitive resources to rely on one sense over the others. His ability to process information through smell is his greatest strength, but it also makes him vulnerable to overload, such as when Krillin uses the stinky shoe to disrupt his senses.

Additionally, his constant reliance on his sense of smell could make him more sensitive to certain stimuli, which may heighten his emotional reactions. For example, if he smells something unpleasant or overwhelming, it might evoke a stronger emotional response than it would for someone with normal sensory processing. This makes him more susceptible to emotional triggers during combat or tense situations.

Theories on His Inner Thoughts and Feelings

  1. Fear of Vulnerability and Insecurity Majora’s blindness likely makes him acutely aware of his vulnerabilities. His pride, while a source of strength, may mask an underlying fear of being perceived as weak or helpless. He may constantly worry that others will see him as less capable because of his disability, which would explain why he overcompensates with arrogance and displays of superiority.

  2. Constant Need to Prove Himself The inability to see would naturally make Majora feel disconnected from others, but his heightened senses force him to rely on his abilities to bridge that gap. He may be constantly battling a deep-seated need to prove that he can be just as powerful as sighted fighters, perhaps even superior. His desire to engage in combat and seek out fights is likely driven by this internal pressure to prove his worth.

  3. Emotional Conflict During Battle In the heat of battle, Majora is likely torn between his instinctive pride and his emotional vulnerability. On one hand, he wants to demonstrate his prowess and prove he is the equal of any fighter; on the other, he must grapple with the fear of being exposed as weak. The fight with Krillin, where his own sense of smell becomes his downfall, represents a significant psychological blow—a moment where he is forced to confront his deepest fear: that despite all his efforts, he may never truly overcome his disability.

  4. Loneliness and Isolation Though Majora is part of a team, his blindness could make him feel emotionally isolated. His pride may make it difficult for him to connect with others on a deeper level, as he may fear that showing vulnerability will make him seem weak. Thus, he hides behind his pride, maintaining a distance from those around him, even if he secretly yearns for companionship or understanding.

In conclusion, Majora's psychological and physiological makeup reveals a complex character who is constantly balancing his pride, his insecurities, and his emotional vulnerabilities. His blindness is not just a physical disability but a lens through which he views the world, one that profoundly shapes his identity, actions, and inner turmoil. His psychological struggle—stemming from pride, fear of vulnerability, and the need to prove himself—is a central aspect of his character arc in Dragon Ball Super.
