Story: Maisie was born in 2008, meaning she was born 15 years before the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. She was created by Charlotte Lockwood from her own DNA and carried to term like a normal pregnancy, without the use of a father. Charlotte was a talented geneticist and the daughter of InGen and Jurassic Park founder Benjamin Lockwood, growing up around the technology to clone the DNA of extinct animals. She created Maisie based on her grandfather's technology and the work of Henry Wu, and was successful.

Some time after Maisie's birth, Charlotte contracted a genetic disease that would also affect Maisie. But, with her experience as a geneticist, she managed not only to create a cure for the disease but to eradicate it completely from Maisie's body. But, unfortunately, this was not enough to save Charlotte's life.

After Charlotte's death, Benjamin and his housekeeper Iris took custody of Maisie and raised her at Lockwood Manor in Northern California. Both out of grief and to protect Maisie from groups like InGen or Biosyn, the true nature of her birth as a genetic clone of Charlotte was kept secret from her. Maisie also grew up around Eli Mills – a businessman tasked with protecting Lockwood Fortune – as a supervisory figure.

Like Maisie's mother, Charlotte, she was interested in dinosaurs and Jurassic Park. Although she often asked about her mother, Benjamin kept his secrets from Charlotte.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Maisie Lockwood is introduced early in the film, spying on Claire Dearing's meeting with Sir Benjamin and Eli Mills. Maisie runs away when Claire sees her, and Claire asks Eli about her. Eli reveals to Claire that Maisie is Lockwood's granddaughter and that he had a daughter, but she died in a car accident. Thus, Maisie and Sir Benjamin are very close.

Later, Maisie overhears Mills' meeting with businessman/auctioneer Gunnar Eversol in the hall. She hid and observed the two discussing selling the Nublar dinosaurs instead of taking them to a sanctuary, as Sir Benjamin intended. Maisie would warn her grandfather about this later, only for Sir Benjamin to openly reject her warnings. However, Sir Benjamin would follow through on what Maisie said later.

The next day, Maisie enters the secret underground laboratory (after seeing the access code to take the elevator) and sees footage of Owen Grady taming Blue and the other Velociraptors when they were younger. Near the end of the video, Maisie hears Mills talking to Henry Wu and tries to hide. As she approaches the Indoraptor's cell, the hybrid tries to grab Maisie with its arm, startling the girl and causing Mills to discover her. Terrified, Maisie asks Mills what that animal is, only for Mills to lock her in her room and warn Iris to keep her there so she doesn't interfere with his plans.

Taking the key from the keyhole and pulling it down the door with a rug, Maisie manages to get out of the room and, after going to a balcony, climbs up the outside of the house to Lockwood's room. To her sorrow, her grandfather is dead. After hiding in a nearby elevator to avoid Mills, Maisie descended to the lab, where she witnessed Claire and Owen emerging from the cage they were trapped in. Initially, Maisie ran away from Claire and Owen as she returned to the elevator. However, recognizing Claire as the woman who spoke with her grandfather about saving the dinosaurs and Owen as the man in the raptor video, Maisie greeted them warmly as she descended from the elevator. When Claire asked about her grandfather, Maisie broke down and ran to Owen for comfort, telling them that Lockwood was dead. Maisie then goes with Claire and Owen.

After walking through the basement, they arrive at the Eversol auction house behind some grates, where they see the Indoraptor being brought in. In response to Claire asking about the beast, Maisie replies that they—Dr. Wu and Eli—got it and points Wu out to the two. She and Claire watched as Owen and Stiggy the Stygimoloch disrupted and ruined the auction, preventing the Indoraptor from being sold to the Russian buyer.

While the three were trying to leave the Manor, Maisie, Claire, and Owen are cornered by Mills and two mercenaries. Mills, angered that they ruined his plans, demands that Maisie go with him, but she refuses because she prefers to stay with Claire and Owen. Mills reveals that Maisie is actually a clone because Sir Benjamin Lockwood wanted his daughter back, which horrifies Maisie. The confrontation is interrupted when the mercenaries are attacked and killed by the Indoraptor. They run from the Indoraptor into the great hall. After Zia Rodriguez and Franklin Webb accidentally turned on the lights in the room (in an attempt to reset the basement's power system), Maisie escaped after the Indoraptor attacked them inside a diorama.

Maisie barely manages to escape via an elevator and goes to her bedroom and hides under the covers. The Indoraptor, however, climbs up the walls of the Manor and enters her room upside down. He slowly approached her and extended an arm before being shot by Owen. Although the bullets didn't harm the animal, it was a sufficient distraction before Blue, the velociraptor, arrived to fight it. Owen then helped Maisie get off the terrace and onto the roof while the dinosaur fight continued. They were chased to the skylight above the room, where Maisie almost slipped but was saved by Owen. The Indoraptor crawled on all fours to try and reach them, but was slow due to the weather and the sensitivity of the glass roof.

That's when Claire arrived with the laser tracking gun to distract and trick the animal. Owen helped by jumping over the animal, which broke the glass roof but managed to hold on. While Maisie and the other two watched in horror, a recovered Blue approached the Indoraptor from the roof, where it was wounded by a ceratopsian skull, killing it for good.

Shortly after, Zia and Franklin arrived to tell the others about the situation underground where toxic gas was being released that could kill all the captive dinosaurs. While Claire, filled with guilt, almost released all the dinosaurs, she finally restrained herself, accepting her own guilt and actions. Maisie, however, couldn't bear to see the dinosaurs suffer and released them. Her reasoning was, "They're alive. Like me." The animals were then finally free to claim the wild regions of the world as their new kingdom. The T. rex among them, even killing Eli Mills.

Maisie then watched Owen and Blue reunite one last time before the Velociraptor fled into the desert. With nowhere to go and both their guardians gone, Owen and Claire decided to take Maisie with them, as they became her new parents, while she became their daughter.

For the next four years, Maisie, now 19, was raised by Owen and Claire in an isolated cabin in an attempt to protect her from people who might want her because of her clone status, which frustrated her. She felt overprotective of her parents/guardians, but knew they were just looking out for her. Although she met and spent time with her adoptive parents, Maisie sensed that Claire and Owen weren't her real ones; perhaps because she missed her grandfather and Iris, as they were her family before she lost them.

But Maisie struggled to know who she was and wanted answers about her biological mother, but her adoptive parents couldn't give her any because they didn't know Charlotte well. Furthermore, living in isolation, Maisie sometimes went to town out of frustration, though she also did so to explore the outside world, having lived in a mansion for most of her life. One day, Maisie discovers that Blue lived nearby and had a child. Maisie bonds with Blue's offspring, but her mother arrives and almost attacks her in self-defense, but Owen comes to calm her down.

Henry Wu and Maisie at the Biosyn lab Wu reveals Maisie's true origins After Owen left to make sure no one was around, Maisie wanted to follow her father, but he told her to stay. However, Maisie decided to follow her father anyway, but was kidnapped by Biosyn and taken to their research center. While there, Maisie discovered that they had also kidnapped Blue's children and decided to call her Beta. Furthermore, through Henry Wu, Maisie discovered that her biological mother was able to produce her without a mate and died of a genetic disease. Upon hearing this, Maisie asked Henry if she also had the disease, but he said that her biological mother saved her by altering her DNA. Understanding her grandfather's intentions to protect her biological mother and herself, and now knowing who she is, Maisie decided to run away back to her adoptive parents and free Beta.

Relationships: Charlotte Lockwood Charlotte loved her daughter very much and raised Maisie out of a desire to have a child and be a mother. Since she couldn't conceive, she sought a way to clone her DNA to make an almost exact copy of herself and also give birth to a baby. Charlotte even created a way to eradicate a deadly disease from Maisie's body before she died. Maisie would grow curious about her mother and what exactly her relationship with her was.

Eli Mills' revelation led Maisie to see herself as "not a real person" and only as a clone of Charlotte, causing her mental problems. But it was through Henry Wu and Ellie Sattler that she learned not only that she was truly Charlotte's daughter, but that Charlotte cared deeply for her as a mother and saw her value as a human being.

Sir Benjamin Lockwood Maisie cared deeply for her grandfather, Sir Benjamin, who raised her as best he could, given his illness and advanced age. The two got along very well, as Maisie shared his interest in dinosaurs, which reminded him of Charlotte. Sir Benjamin cared deeply for Maisie, just as he cared for his daughter. He also wanted to ensure that her true origins as a genetic clone of Charlotte were kept hidden, which is why she was isolated from the rest of the world. After her death at the hands of Eli Mills, Maisie was distraught and shed many tears, only finding comfort when Owen and Claire took her in.

Owen Grady While sneaking around, investigating the secret laboratory beneath Lockwood Manor, Maisie sees Owen Grady's video researching the four raptors (Blue, Charlie, Delta, and Echo). She saw his compassion through the footage. Later, she met Owen and Claire at the manor. Although initially afraid of them, Maisie recognized Owen, spoke about having seen his footage, and placed her trust in him. She develops a bond with Owen as he and Claire protect her from the Indoraptor and Mills mercenaries. Even after Owen discovered the truth that she is a clone of Lockwood's deceased daughter, he, along with Claire, accepted Maisie as a person, regardless of her origins.

After the dinosaurs were released and had nowhere to go, Maisie was taken in by Owen and Claire as they adopted her as their daughter. Maisie seems close to her adoptive father and admires him. Furthermore, Maisie acquired her father's characteristics, as she enjoyed outdoor activities and learned various survival skills. Additionally, Maisie would do anything to help her father in any way she could and learned survival skills from him. After being kidnapped by Biosyn, the first thing Maisie had in mind when she realized what they wanted with her was to return to her father and mother. Upon reuniting with her father, Maisie was happy to see Owen again. Maisie quickly learned her father's skills in handling raptors.

Claire Dearing Claire and Maisie Claire holding Maisie without a second thought. Previously, Maisie witnessed Claire Dearing talking to her grandfather about how to save the dinosaurs from the volcanic eruption on Isla Nublar. Days later, she met Claire and Owen at the mansion. Although initially afraid of them, Maisie realized Claire was the woman she had seen days before and knew she was trustworthy. The two quickly bonded, with Claire and Owen protecting Maisie from Mills' mercenaries and the Indoraptor. Even when Claire discovered she was the clone of Lockwood's deceased daughter, she, along with Owen, accepted Maisie as a person, regardless of her origins.

After the dinosaur was freed and had nowhere to go, Maisie was taken in by Claire and Owen as they adopted her as their daughter. Maisie gets along well with her adoptive mother, but gets annoyed when she becomes overprotective of her, although she understands she was just looking out for her. Maisie felt that Claire didn't care much about her and didn't consider her her mother, even though she told her so. However, Maisie regretted saying this to her adoptive mother, especially after she was kidnapped by Biosyn. With Ellie's help, Maisie realized that Claire was the real mother she always wanted and that she truly cared about her. After reuniting with her mother, Maisie reconciled with Claire and was happy that she had come to get her.

Blue Although Maisie didn't have any real relationship with Blue at first, she learned that Blue is a completely different type of Velociraptor; she would never attack or kill anyone, and is nothing compared to those who came before her.

In the Lockwood Manor lab, Maisie watches one of Owen's 2013 baby Raptor training videos of Blue and Delta and understands Blue's connective bond with Owen, causing her to have genuine respect for her. It's possible that... Owen will show Maisie everything she needs to know about Blue and how to build a relationship with her when they see the Velociraptor again.

Henry Wu Henry Wu and Maisie didn't interact or speak properly until his capture at the hands of BioSyn. Understanding her anger and distrust towards him as the creator of the Indoraptor, Henry chose his words and behavior carefully and decided to tell Maisie the whole truth about his situation. He also revealed how he knew Charlotte and considered her a better geneticist than himself (an especially high compliment, given his accomplishments).

Wu had no ulterior motives towards Maisie as a scientist and only sought to help her out of respect for Charlotte and as a kind human being. This impression was enough for Maisie to allow him to collect blood samples from her to stop the global locust plague. After reuniting following Maisie's escape, Maisie vouched for Wu when Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, and Ian Malcolm expressed their distrust of the scientist.

Kayla Watts Kayla met Maisie when the two were at the Malta airfield. Kayla delivered Beta separately from Maisie, who was brought in on a private plane as planned by Soyona Santos. Kayla asked who Maisie was, and she was instructed to ignore the girl and accept her payment. Not wanting trouble with her employees, Kayla went to the Amber Clave Market, where she found Claire, who was looking for Maisie. Although Kayla recognized Maisie and felt guilty, she told Claire she couldn't get involved.

But Kayla changed her mind; upon seeing Claire being chased by one of Santos' Attrociraptors, she saved her and Owen. Now agreeing to help the two reach BioSyn and rescue Maisie when she realized this, she could have done something sooner. Upon reuniting the parents with their daughter, Maisie recognized Kayla and held no grudge against the pilot. Later, Kayla would help save Maisie's life by using a flare to distract the Giganotosaurus, allowing the girl and her parents to reach the BioSyn helicopter and finally escape danger.

[Ellie Sattler Maisie was familiar with Ellie Sattler, likely through public knowledge of the Jurassic Park incident, her grandfather's stories, and her interest in dinosaurs. She met the paleobotanist when she bumped into Ellie and Alan Grant in the BioSyn sublevels before escaping. It was during the tram ride that Ellie told Maisie she knew her mother and had met her years before she was born, at a conference.]

[It was also through Ellie that Maisie discovered Charlotte raised her not entirely out of scientific curiosity, but because she wanted a daughter to grow up and live a full life. Later, Maisie questioned Ellie about having children and was confused as to why she and Alan weren't married.]

[Ellie continued to act as Maisie's protector as they fled from Dimetrodons, navigated flaming locusts, and attempted to escape the Giganotosaurus. Claire even personally thanked Ellie when she was finally reunited with her daughter.] [Ellie even ran away when Maisie and her parents were nearly crushed to death by the Giganotosaurus and rushed her to the BioSyn helicopter.]

[Alan Grant Maisie was familiar with Alan Grant, likely through public knowledge of the Jurassic Park incident, her grandfather's stories, and her own interest in dinosaurs. She met Alan when she bumped into him and Ellie Sattler in the BioSyn sublevels before they escaped together. Although Alan had previously been awkward with children, he took on a protective role towards Maisie to ensure her safety. Maisie would later question whether he had children, to which he replied no. This only confused the girl because Ellie had two, but not with Alan.]

[Later, after reuniting with her parents and escaping the Giganotosaurus, Maisie insisted that Alan help her and Owen find and capture Beta, Blue, the velociraptor's daughter, as he was a raptor expert.] The three would continue doing this, with Alan cooperating and showing astonishment that Maisie managed to distract the raptor with signal commands.

[Ian Malcolm Maisie met Ian Malcolm when he arrived at the security gate of the Amber Mines and led them through the BioSyn Valley. She was likely familiar with Chaotic due to his celebrity persona, as well as his books and involvement in the Jurassic Park incident.]

Beta Maisie and Beta's relationship can be seen as a reflection of their parents' relationship, Owen and Blue. Maisie managed to bond with Beta quite quickly, and when she was kidnapped, she seemed more concerned about Beta than anything else. This relationship grew when Maisie learned that they were both born asexual. Maisie also managed to keep Beta under control using some of her father's raptor training with Blue.
