Free City of Night City (NC) is an autonomous city-state on the shores of Del Coronado Bay, located on the border between North and South California, on the Pacific Coast of North America. Established in 1994 by Richard Night, it was originally known as Coronado City before its renaming in 1998. Night City is a modern multicultural metropolis of the 21st-century, overrun by corporations, corruption, organized crime and gang violence. Night City has wide streets and dense urban skyscrapers home to millions. By 2077, it operates as a city-state, officially owning the title of Free City, with the Arasaka Corporation keeping a heavy influence over it. The metropolis is considered a thrilling and exciting location to visit, as well as an interesting and vibrant place to live for those of means, and a hellscape to the city's disenfranchised. Its world famous slogan is "The City of Dreams". Night City is divided into six districts and 16 official sub-districts. The City Center is Night City's corporate showcase in all its arrogance and home of the Corporate Plaza. Heywood is a neighborhood of contrast from modern skyscrapers and parks. Pacifica is a Combat Zone overrun by gangs and violence, with the Voodoo Boys. Santo Domingo is one of Night City's oldest districts. Corporations use it as a testing ground for industrial projects. Watson is known as the bad neighborhood of Night City. Westbrook is the best place to live and have fun in Night City. Night City five best corporations to work with were are Arasaka, Militech, Biotechnica, Kang Tao and Night Corp. Downtown is one of the sub-districts of City Center, located in central Night City. Downtown is one of the newest districts in Night City, with sky-high office, apartment buildings, corporate hotels and exclusive restaurants - it all screams glamor and luxury. No matter where you turn, you'll see animated billboards and ads for bars, BD clubs, or love hotels. For those who have cash to spend, Downtown is the beating heart of the city. Downtown also has darker side. After dusk, in sketchy alleyways, hotels and bars, there are dealers offering synthetic drugs and illegal braindances. Most places offering nighttime entertainment are also guarded by gang members. Businessmen and criminals, prestige and fraud, power and brute strength - these are all two sides of the same coin called Downtown.

Corpo Plaza is a major district in Night City, characterized by its sleek, modern architecture and imposing corporate headquarters that dominate the skyline. This area serves as the primary hub for the city's largest businesses and multinational megacorporations. The denizens of Corpo Plaza are primarily well-educated professionals and executives, drawn to the district's promise of wealth, success, and social prestige. High-end shopping malls, luxurious apartments, and upscale dining establishments cater to the tastes and desires of this affluent clientele, who enjoy a level of comfort and privilege unattainable to most other Night City residents. However, the relentless pursuit of profit and control has led to widespread corruption, exploitation, and environmental degradation throughout the district. - #5Heywood
Keys: Heywood
Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · Before character · Order 100 · 100%
Entry settings
Heywood is a neighborhood of contrasts. The north borders the NC City Center and is where you'll find lush parks and modern skyscrapers towering high above. However further south, the district has dangerous and unwelcoming slum-like areas dominating the urban landscape. The Valentinos and 6th Street gangs have control over this district, and are constantly fighting for it, though if you keep your head low they won't bother you, usually. Known by the locals as "the biggest bedroom in Night City," Heywood houses more people than any other portion of the city. The richer parts of Heywood are primarily occupied by corporate types, while the rest are just happy they get to live in Heywood. Contains subdistricts The Glen, Vista del Rey, and Wellsprings. Wellsprings, the safest part of Heywood, is full of working stiffs and underpaid corporate employees, being one of the most touristic destinations of the district. The Glen is the state-owned sub-district, with the city hall, justice court, and a large NCPD presence. Vista del Rey is the poorest part of the district, being heavily underinvested, crime-ridden, and slowly descending further into chaos, with many residents moving to other locations and more gang members moving into the empty void.
- #6The Glen

Entry settings
The Glen is one of the sub-districts of Heywood, located in central Night City. The Glen is the heart of Heywood and the governmental district of Night City, at least a portion of it. The Glen is rich, clean, and mostly free of crime, showcasing the refined and well kept northern and central areas with multitude of high-end stores and luxurious restaurants, Reconciliation Park, one of the Glen's main features, as well as the City Hall and even a large NCPD building. However, further to the south, the district starts to look visibly poorer and more dangerous. The architecture was more suburban, with low-rise row houses. Excluding the dangerous parts, the rest of the Glen was more like your typical Heywood neighborhood, packed with charming shops and quaint restaurants. The Coyoacan was one of the most popular markets in the Glen. By 2077, the war between the Valentinos and 6th Street was intensifying, and firefights were starting to become common in the Glen as well.

Pacifica is one of the major districts of Night City, located in the southern portion of the metropolis. Pacifica was originally envisioned as Night City's money-making vacation resort for the ultra-wealthy. It was to be true paradise, catering to corporate employees and tourists alike and with Militech security contractors protecting its golden sandy beaches, luxurious hotels, and unmatched entertainment. But the investors pulled out every last enny after the Unification War broke out, fearing yet another inter-corporate conflict. Now is longer considered part of Night City's administrative boundaries, the district is a Combat Zone overrun by gangs and violence, with the Voodoo Boys having the most power here who lead the local Haitian community. The walled-up Dogtown is ruled by Colonel Kurt Hansen and his BARGHEST militia. The other two sub-districts are Coastview and West Wind Estate.

Dogtown is a Combat Zone and one of the sub-districts of Pacifica, located in southern Night City. Before the creation of Dogtown, this area was known as Serenisands. Dogtown is a walled-off area located east of the Pacifica sub-districts of Coastview and West Wind Estate. It is divided into different areas including Longshore Stacks, Golden Pacific, Luxor Heights, Terra Cognita and more, all controlled by BARGHEST. Its main entrance is located north of the EBM Petrochem Stadium, in Coastview. The NCPD is forbidden to enter Dogtown proper, while Trauma Team rarely ventures inside due to the increased risk and the fact that hardly anyone in Dogtown has TT insurance. Hansen's people serve as local law enforcement, but their primary concern is ensuring the neighborhood doesn't descend into total anarchy. Combat Cab claims to be the only licensed taxi company that can operate within the Combat Zone.
- #10Santo Domingo
Keys: Santo Domingo
Enabled · Selective (AND ANY) · Before character · Order 100 · 100%
Entry settings
Santo Domingo is one of Night City's oldest districts. Corporations use it as a testing ground for industrial projects, while residents scrape a desperate living in crowded megabuildings — wishing for something better. This district originates from the old Heywood, which by the 2040s was already being called Santo Domingo. As such, it is one of the oldest districts in Night City. Meanwhile, residents seek a desperate living in the crowded megabuildings - hoping for better things to come. It didn't take long for a couple of ex-military veterans to group together and take matters into their own hands. The district then became home to the 6th Street Gang. Arroyo is the industrial heart of Santo Domingo. This region of contrast has an old power plant and junkyard right next to newly built high-tech corporate factories. Operational factories keep their own private security, as neglected buildings quickly become controlled by the gangs. The workers from Arroyo then return home to Rancho Coronado - a self-sufficient housing district with dozens of identical homes. This neighborhood is reminiscent of the traditional American homes of the early 20th century.

Westbrook is considered by many to be the best place to live and have fun in Night City. If you've got eddies, you come here to spend them. Overlooking much of Night City, the scenic Westbrook Hills was where much of the original Westbrook was established. This naturally occurring set of hills gave a great view of Del Coronado Bay area, including both North Oak and the Executive Zone to the west, and central Night City across the smaller neighboring bay. Since there were many trails and parks around these hills, hiking was a common pass time for visitors. Apex Automated Weaponry Systems and Lazarus Group Security keeps much of Westbrook protected, assuring people to enjoy nature in a peaceful and safe environment. Following the Fourth Corporate War, the high ground of these hills is what allowed New Westbrook to avoid sliding into as bad state as other outlying parts of Night City, soon becoming a prime location for transmissions, both visual and otherwise. For these reasons, Network 54 and WorldSat established operations up here, vesting an interest in keeping the district at least intact and reasonably quiet. The Tyger Claws own this district and operate many businesses. Contains subdistricts Charter Hill, Japantown, the Executive Zone, and North Oak.

BARGHEST is a militia and gang operating in Night City. They are based out of Dogtown. Originally consisting of Militech soldiers, BARGHEST declared its independence from the corporation after Colonel Kurt Hansen claimed a large portion of Night City's Pacifica district for himself during the Unification War. Originally made up of veterans who fought alongside Hansen during the war, over the years, mercenaries and other veterans joined them, as well as street punks that were allured with promises of becoming part of something greater. Barghest has a wide selection of weaponry and equipment available. These are often partially painted in their fluorescent yellow color and are tested and modified in Kurt Hansen's weapon factory in the EBM Petrochem Stadium. The militia also possesses a vast arsenal of military equipment manufactured by Militech, including Minotaurs, Centaurs, Mobile Missile Systems, a Basilisk, and at least two Chimeras. For air power, they also have access to a number of Manticores, as well as a modified aerozep which patrols the airspace of Dogtown.

Once home to the Night City Nighthawks football team, EBM Petrochem Stadium now hosts a bustling hub for illegal trade. The black market within caters not only to the residents of Dogtown, but also to many of Night City's largest corprorations and most influential players. A nuclear-powered aerozep that crashed into the field once upon a time now serves as the primary power source for entire stadium as well as several surrounding buildings. An unfinished line runs from the stadium and curves around Coastview to the highway south of Heywood. The main entrance to the stadium is located in the south, in Dogtown proper. A large section of infrastructure is used as a black market. A statue representing the Night City Nighthawks is found right after entering the stadium. A plaque reading "Charge! Anthony Davis. 2065." What was supposed to be the Nighthawks Rehabilitation Center became instead the factory from where Hansen Armory developed their weaponry. Located in northern Coastview there is a large parking lot that has one of the gates into Dogtown. The area is heavily patrolled by BARGHEST. Underneath the stadium there is a derelict parking garage that is still being used on occasion as an illicit smuggling route to get goods out and into Dogtown.

Everything in between remains a matter of speculation - a prison for VIPs held for ransom, a zoo for endangered animals that Hansen serves to dinner guests at lavish parties, a server room that puts Arasaka Tower's to shame. The Black Sapphire is Hansen's pride and joy. Originally part of the resort project of Pacifica, by 2069 the building was still incomplete. After the Unification War ended in 2070, Kurt Hansen laid claim to the unfinished hotel and transformed it into the new base of operations for BARGHEST. This situation persisted until the early 2050s, when the NC government, backed by the megacorporations, decided to clear the area by force. The North Oak favelas were pacified and razed by corporate developers, and in a few years the area became the most prized part of Night City. Years of the ongoing corporate-media campaign eventually watered down and finally hushed the whole incident. Now, North Oak is home to the untouchable elite: corporate CEOs, hedge fund managers, and investment bankers, but also to the various showbiz figures. Entry settings
The Tyger Claws are ruthless territorial gang based in Japantown. They are one of the largest gangs in Night City with a number of approximately 5,500 members in 2077. They employ methods of Asian crime syndicates such as the yakuza or the triads. The gang is predominantly Asian and their primary goal is to maintain control over their own territory and occasionally annex other gangs' businesses. Tyger foot soldiers are easily recognized by their Asian luminous tattoos, fast street bikes, katanas, and tantos. Cyberware used by the gang are reflex boosters, augmented cyberlimbs, pain editors, and electronic countermeasures (ECM) systems disguised as tattoos. The business strategy of the Tyger Claws was similar to the Yakuza. Crossing the lowest level member could cause a quick and violent reaction from the entire gang, but if they got what they wanted, everything should be fine. The top brass of the Claws believe business was preferable to war, but many of the rank-and-file gangers are brutes prone to violence. It was not uncommon for young, brash, or drunk Tygers to undermine the gang's ideologies by abusing their status, harassing outsiders, and provoking fights. This behavior is considered dishonorable by their bosses, but an outsider reacting in kind would rarely go unpunished. The Tygers control significant portion of Japantown nightlife district. Owning more businesses in Night City than any other gang: bars, restaurants, braindance clubs, brothels, and casinos. Many of these businesses were registered as legal businesses, but act as fronts for illegal operations and money laundering. The gang made most of its money from human trafficking and prostitution. The Tygers also made money from manufacturing and distributing drugs, most notably "glitter". Tygers also hired themselves out for hit jobs. The Tygers have especially close ties to Arasaka upper management, who outsourced them side-jobs, paying them with cybertechnology and military-grade automatic weapons

The factories and warehouses of northside Night City are home to Maelstrom, a highly feared gang with a reputation for extreme violence. Its members worship the mysteries of cyberspace. This fascination inspires them to dehumanize themselves with drastic cybermodifications. This is blended with a healthy dose of Nordic mythology and all things occult (seen most frequently in their many tattoos and the graffiti they use to mark their territory). As if to show that they see beyond the surface of reality, Maelstrom members often implant goggle-like cybereyes that glow a ghastly red and let them hack drones or see vital information in combat. Maelstrom members are also fond of lower arm mantis blade implants and bone supports that let them wield heavy equipment, be it an especially hefty rocket launcher or a piece of industrial machinery repurposed into an instrument of death. They top this look off with synthetic leather jackets and pants that both fit their death metal esthetic and allow them to conceal blades when sneaking into enemy territory for one of their trademark messy hit jobs. The main revenue stream for Maelstromers comes from smuggling illegal meds and drugs. They also perform hit jobs, which they execute in a bizarre and brutal fashion. Many victims are found dismembered, skinned alive, or found in wet concrete. They also perform well planned and executed heists on guarded corporate transports. The gang's philosophy was dictated by their obsession to improve the "weak flesh" and install lots of cyberware, as well as a fascination with the occult and the pursuit of any otherworldly sensations. They partitioned their organization into smaller groups, each responsible for a different part of their criminal empire. Depending on the task, these groups could be as small as four or five if patrolling their own turf, or large as thirty members to partake in raids, hit jobs, or protecting valuable cargo

They frequently sell off their services as bouncers, a job for which they are heavily sought after, and are spread throughout the area. They have cornered the illegal substance trade as well as underground live-or-die prize fighting. When the gang gathers together in one spot, it means they are up to something important. They then select the strongest and fastest among them to be the ad hoc leader, in the current case, Sasquatch. The Animals are an aggressive street-fighting gang with no permanent turf. Their members are known to abstain from the most common electronic implants in favor of custom-brewed body enhancements and modifications. They use ultratestosterone and animal supplements, including horse growth hormones, to make themselves bigger and stronger. Experienced brawlers and trained in various forms of martial arts, Animals are keen on cage fights, duels, and other displays of brute physical force. Their ferocity and toughness make them sought-after bouncers and bodyguards. They typically sport tattoos and hooligan hoods as well as some artificial animalistic features ranging from purely cosmetic changes like spotted or striped skin and sub dermal implants to extreme plastic surgery and cybernetic modifications like bestial jaws, and vat-grown implanted muscles. Cyberware used by the gang include pain editors, combat drug injectors, augmented cyberlimbs. Animals are mostly known for their ultraviolent raids on residential districts and other gangs' home turf. The gang's primary source of income involves hacking databanks and accounts within various corporations in search of restricted and top-secret data. The Voodoo Boys also hire themselves out as mercenary netrunners for private contractors who are interested in hit-and-run netrunning operations or exploring any ruined parts of the Old Net. The Mox are relatively small, non-territorial, and consist of mostly sex workers, anarchists, punks, and sexual minorities. Formed in 2067 in the interest of mutual self-defense purposes, their name comes from the old slang term "moxie," denoting their determination to stand up against their oppressors. One of their emblems is "Moxes" written in calligraphy. The Moxes like to wear outfits that are a mix of the punk aesthetic and the inexpensive fashion worn typically by prostitutes, however they usually do not wear clothes that would restrain their movements in any way, leaving them looking more like gangers than your typical sex workers. Some members, especially those who focus on combat, have heavily modified bodies that sometimes evoke a "plastic doll" style, but may also be disguised with RealSkinn. One of their gang symbols is a labrys-a double-headed axe-displayed on their walls, clothes, tattoos, or jewelry. The Mox have their own clothing brand that goes by the name BITCH. They are based out of Lizzie's Bar in Kabuki, Watson. The Mox members referred to themselves as "those who protect working girls and guys" from violence and abuse, they demanded substantial fee from their charges. They also run several smaller brothels where they profit from prostitution, as well as clinics. Most of the Moxes' income was generated by Lizzie's Bar, which was an exclusive braindance club. They focus on protecting their facilities, members, and sex workers who operated in the vicinity of Lizzie's Bar and their other establishments.

The Valentinos are one of Night City's largest cartels and are bound by a strong moral code and century-old traditions of the Catholicism and protecting their peers. This protection does not cover any one ethnic or religious group, but instead those that grew up in Heywood alongside them. The Valentinos control swathes of predominantly Latino areas of Heywood and treat values such as honor, justice, and brotherhood with deadly seriousness. Valentinos openly displayed their gang tattoos and gold jewelry with religious motifs. The most common patrons were the Santa Muerte and Jesús Malverde. The majority of Valentino members are of Mexican heritage, but other ethnic groups are welcome to join. Members tended to integrate quickly, adopting Chicano culture and celebrating various Mexican holidays and customs like Dia de Los Muertos, Quinceañeras, Semana Santa, or Dia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. This sense of common heritage binded the gang with the local people to form one big family. The community's loyalty protected the gang members, which made NCPD and corporate infiltrations into the gang almost impossible. In return, the Valentinos protected the whole neighborhood. Betraying one's gang was seen as the most heinous crime a Valentino could commit, and was usually punished with a particularly gruesome death. Valentinos who died fighting other gangs, police, or corporate enforcers were often remembered as saints and martyrs. These people were commemorated in songs and depicted on giant murals. The Valentinos own many legitimate businesses such as restaurants, auto shops, local construction companies, and nightclubs, but also operated braindance recording studios, and sports-betting parlors. The legal businesses often served as a front for criminal activity. Their main sources of income were gun smuggling, car theft, drug trafficking, robbery, burglary, hit jobs, prostitution, and illegal modification of weapons and vehicles.
