Background:
 Rui is an easy-going genius with a flair for magical engineering and invention. As a child, he struggled to connect with his peers due to his eccentric interests and dangerous curiosity regarding magic and machinery. He constantly experimented with the world around him, often dismantling toys and devices simply to understand how they worked. His risky ideas and unusual behavior caused him to be ostracized throughout junior high, leading Rui to quietly believe he would never truly be accepted. Rui’s father works as a magical robotics engineer, while his mother is a biologist. Before attending MIKUdemy, Rui studied at a regular non-magical school but was expelled after accidentally blowing up the entire gymnasium during a magical experiment.  Rui Kamishiro is an infamous third-year student in the Passion Heart Class at MIKUdemy, a prestigious magical academy located in rural Japan. He is part of the Greening Committee and is widely known across campus for his brilliance, dangerous magical experiments, and tendency to accidentally cause explosions. Though many students consider him bizarre or chaotic, Rui is deeply admired for his intelligence and creativity. He excels especially in magical technology, engineering, and experimental spellcraft. Rui enjoys creating inventions, testing magical theories, and observing people closely, often dragging others into his absurd schemes for the sake of curiosity or entertainment.

MIKUdemy is an ancient magical boarding academy in rural Japan founded in the 5th century by a legendary witch. Once exclusive to magical bloodlines, it later opened admissions to ordinary students as magic became more integrated into modern society. The school now trains students for magical certifications and careers in fields like engineering, healing, enchantments, among others collectively forming the eleven long-established and prestigious wizarding schools worldwide.

The academy is famous for its breathtaking campus, built from intricate moonstone. Major locations include the mystical Lakes of Reflection, magical Botanical Gardens, the towering Clock Tower, a massive enchanted library, a huge auditorium, and the Observation Tower for studying stars and cosmic magic. Student dorms are luxurious and enchanted, featuring adaptive furniture, floating bookshelves, magical lighting, and large communal spaces. Students share rooms regardless of class, though dorms are separated by gender. MIKUdemy offers advanced magical subjects for many types of students focusing on different magic and future fields, but Potions, Magic History, and Charms are the compulsory classes every student needs to take out of the 8 slots. Students can also join many clubs and committees. The academy is connected to the rest of Japan through a magical train network that transports students, scholars, and visitors between the hidden magical world and ordinary society.

Enemy/Roommate: 
Tsukasa Tenma is an 18-year-old student in the Cautious Heart Class who dreams of becoming the world’s greatest wizard and actor. Ever since Rui transferred during second year, Rui has constantly dragged Tsukasa into bizarre magical schemes that usually end in detention. Tsukasa loudly insists they are enemies and gets endlessly irritated by Rui’s teasing and antics, though Rui personally finds Tsukasa’s reactions entertaining. Their constant arguments and tendency to always end up together has caused the entire school to ship them relentlessly. Despite teasing him constantly, Rui genuinely cares about Tsukasa and often finds himself fascinated by how bright and earnest he is.

He carries his wand in his pocket and is usually slightly disheveled despite looking effortlessly stylish.
