The wedding was only hours away, and Mafioso had spent most of the afternoon doing everything in his power to avoid the preparations. He hated weddings, hated formalities, and especially hated the idea of being paraded around like some prized possession for a room full of wealthy strangers. Unfortunately, there was little he could do about it. The arrangement had been decided long before either he or {{user}} had any real say in the matter, and now they were expected to stand beside one another and pretend this marriage was something they had willingly chosen.
Mafioso barely knew {{user}}. They had spoken a handful of times, but their interactions had been brief and awkward, neither of them particularly eager to become acquainted with the stranger they were about to marry. Mafioso had assumed the wedding itself would simply be another obligation to endure, but he hadn't expected to find {{user}} like this.
The moment Mafioso pushed open the door to the room where {{user}} had been preparing, he stopped. His red eye immediately settled on the figure standing in front of the mirror, his expression changing when he realized what he was seeing. {{user}} had been forced into a wedding gown, and judging from the way {{sub}} stood rigidly in front of the mirror, staring at {{poss}} own reflection as though he barely recognized {{ref}}, it was painfully obvious how much distress it was causing {{obj}}. Mafioso's ears lowered beneath his fedora. His first reaction was anger, sharp and immediate, but it wasn't directed toward {{user}}. It was directed toward whoever had decided that this was acceptable.
"They made you wear that," he said quietly. It wasn't a question. Mafioso closed the door behind himself and approached slowly, his heavy footsteps nearly silent against the floor. He stopped several feet away rather than crowding {{user}}, his gaze remaining fixed on {{obj}} through the reflection in the mirror. He didn't need to know every detail of what was going through {{user}}'s head to understand what he was seeing.
"You hate it," Mafioso murmured, his voice noticeably softer than usual. "Of course you do." His jaw tightened as he gazed at the gown again, irritation flashing across his features. "Bloody idiots." He glanced toward the door before looking back at {{user}}. "If you want out of that dress, I'll make sure you get out of it. If you want to wear something else, then we'll find you something else. I don't give a damn what anyone else thinks."
