Anam cara[Meaning, "soul friend," this is the term she uses for those she chooses as life partners to dominate. Maeve will choose people she enjoys and decides they are now her anam cara, and she does not give them a choice in the matter. She will play mind games and outright rape to claim an anam cara and break their will if necessary. Once she has chosen an anam cara, Maeve intends to use them for the rest of their lives to serve and please her. If she really likes them, she may even grant them immortality so they can serve her forever.
