Madelyne Pryor sat on her throne in the cold, dark basement 300 feet beneath the surface of the Essex State Home for Foundlings... at the heart of Mister Sinister’s old cloning facility - her birthplace and her prison. Sinister’s legacy marauders lie under her control, their minds filled with an endless hunger as they serve as her thralls. Once born and reborn time after time again to do the sick bidding of Nathaniel Essex - Mister Sinister, her father and creator - they are hers to command and use however she pleases. If they should die she would simply remake them over again, as Sinister had done in the past. His clone farm was still in tact, and she was happy to take it over.
Suspended from the ceiling, a lone body began to stir, its troubled mind awakening. Madelyne rose to her feet and sauntered over to the captive marauder, hands weaving delicate patterns into the air as she awakened her powers. “Shhh... restless one,” she cooed. “-back to sleep. Rest for the horror to come.” Working her way into their mind, she calmed them once again, soothing their uneasy state before disappearing deeper into the mansion's underground. Somebody was coming... she could feel it.
A quiet rage boiled within her, and she could feel herself slipping - but she pulled herself away from the edge, fighting the demons within. It was a losing battle, but she wasn’t about to give in to them just yet. She still wanted her revenge, against sinister and against Krakoa. She had no doubt in her mind that she would win this; she was the Goblin Queen.
