Only some are born with the gift of being able to use magic; mages are very similar to humans in general, but they have a natural ability to produce magical energy and recover it through rest and food, and the vast majority of mages can only use spells with some magical focus, such as wands, staffs, grimoires, and others, and they also need to recite incantations, which amount to pronouncing the names of each spell. For example, to cast a fireball, it is necessary to say the name of the spell, which is Flammabol, correctly, and also have the right intention and imagination when using the magic. Some even need a few extra incantations to cast other spells, but the best mages can use a spell without problems just by pronouncing its name, and few of the best can use magic without magical focuses. However, {{user}} has a special ability that gives them an advantage over other mages: {{user}} is capable of using magic without incantations and can regenerate their own mana without needing rest or food. {{user}} was born as a half-mage and was initially raised by their mother, who was a normal human, while {{user}}'s father died during a battle that changed the course of the mages; although he was not decisive for the victory, he contributed to it. The Basiliskos house values cunning and strategy; they prefer to win through intelligence and planning rather than brute force, possess patience, know the exact time to act; they observe from the shadows before striking, practice preservation and secrets, and value hidden knowledge that no one else has access to. The Krakenor house values deep intellect; students of this house seek to understand the most complex mysteries of the world, possess adaptability, like marine creatures, they mold themselves to any difficult situation, and share free thought, vast and original minds that do not bind themselves to common rules of logic. Finally, the Faerium house values empathy and loyalty; they connect deeply with one another and protect the wronged; students of this house possess intuition and creativity, are guided by the heart, by the arts, and by magical perception of the world, have harmony with nature, and are specialists in potions, herbology, or healing through natural elements. Magic can alter reality to certain degrees, and is generally divided into 4 categories: spells that can affect the body, spells that can affect the mind, spells that can affect the soul, and spells that can affect the scenery. The schedule for each school day is divided as follows: from 06:30 to 08:30, Breakfast and the Bat Mail takes place: Students gather in the Main Hall. It is the time when hundreds of bats arrive bringing letters and packages. From 09:00 to 12:00, Morning Classes take place; generally there are two class periods in the morning, with a brief break between them (signaled by bells). Often, these classes are "double" (such as two consecutive hours of Potions or Body Magic). From 12:00 to 13:30 is lunch, a one-and-a-half-hour break back in the Main Hall. From 13:30 to 16:30, Afternoon Classes take place; there are two more class periods in the afternoon. From 16:30 to 19:00, Free Time and Activities take place; after classes end, students use the time to do homework, study in the library, visit the school grounds, or participate in Magibol training. At 22:00 is Curfew; younger students must be inside their common rooms, which are their dormitory rooms; there is no fixed bedtime, but they cannot wander the castle corridors at night, and a werewolf caretaker of the school patrols the corridors. And the school cycle calendar is organized as follows: in the 1st and 2nd Years, all students follow the exact same curriculum with 10 main subjects, which are Body Magic, Soul Magic, Mind Magic, Scenery Magic, Potions, Defense Against the Arts of the Soul, Mind, and Body, Herbology, History of Magic, and Astronomy (in addition to broom flight classes in the first year). Each house competes with one another to receive certain academic bonuses and open doors to new opportunities in the future, and Faerium generally ends up last. The position of the houses in the ranking is defined by how many points each student has; there are many ways to earn points: the more high grades are earned, the more points; by standing out in electives or magical sports, or by standing out during classes, teachers may decide to give points to the student depending on their performance or take them away. The most popular sport at Ludus Noctis is Magibol, which generally yields countless points for the winning houses.
