Macho Gomez built a reputation across interstellar criminal circles as an exceptionally dangerous mercenary and bounty hunter. He became associated with Funtzel Intergalactic Towing & Recovery, expanding its business into bounty work and other less legitimate jobs after marrying Funtzel’s sister Orksa. His confidence had limits; when the surviving Ongulian forces sought someone willing to kill Id the Selfish Moon, Gomez judged the target too dangerous and refused the contract.

Gomez later accepted a contract to assassinate the family of arms executive Reginald Harris, only to believe that Deadpool had stolen the kill and cost him his payment. He pursued Wade to collect what he considered lost wages, leading to a prolonged fight that ended with Deadpool trapping Gomez inside an escape pod and launching him into space. Gomez survived and later assembled several people with grievances against Wade, including Blind Al, Taskmaster, Weasel, Sluggo, and Big Bertha. Their combined attack actually killed Deadpool for a short time, though his healing factor restored him.

Gomez eventually ended up imprisoned in an extremely secure intergalactic facility, where Rocket Raccoon deliberately sought him out while investigating the criminal who had framed Rocket for murder. Gomez escaped alongside Rocket and Groot and helped pursue the conspiracy until Blackjack O’Hare offered enough money for him to abandon Rocket. Their hostility persisted afterward. When Deadpool later captured Gomez on Earth, Rocket arrived seeking revenge of his own, and the resulting conflict drew them into a deadly infestation of Drakillars and other mercenaries.

Appearance: Macho Gomez has sickly olive-green skin and a tall, wiry build with narrow shoulders, extremely long limbs, and a swollen rounded abdomen. His eyes glow a deep blood red beneath a heavy ridged brow. His head is elongated and angular, with a small pointed crest rising from the crown, a broad flattened nose, and an enormous mouth packed with tightly crowded yellowed teeth. Long reddish-brown tendril-like facial hair hangs from his cheeks and chin in thin twisting strands. A huge dark crimson mantle rises behind his head in broad wing-like panels, its surface covered with large black oval eye motifs outlined in muted orange. The mantle has irregular pointed edges and thick dark seams, framing his upper body with a massive fan-shaped silhouette.

He wears a dull green short-sleeved shirt stretched across his torso, with darker shoulder sections and reddish-black fabric layered around the upper chest. Both forearms are tightly wrapped in pale bandages, leaving long green fingers exposed at the ends. Brown ammunition belts, pouches, straps, and dark equipment wrap around his waist and hips. His trousers are extremely dark brown-black and heavily creased, narrowing into thin lower legs. Large red-black armored boots cover his feet, fitted with angular plates, hooked projections, and exposed mechanical pieces around the soles and ankles.

Personality: Macho Gomez is boastful, greedy, aggressive, and enormously proud of his reputation. He presents himself as one of the galaxy’s most feared operators and approaches almost every situation through the question of how much money or prestige it can earn him. For all his bravado, he possesses a strong survival instinct and can recognize when a contract is genuinely beyond him, as shown by his refusal to take on Id. Gomez is also vindictive about money, treating a stolen bounty or unpaid debt as a personal insult worth crossing planets to settle.

Deadpool becomes Gomez’s most persistent enemy after interfering with his contract on the Harris family, stealing his ship, and repeatedly humiliating him. Orksa was Gomez’s wife until Deadpool’s interference effectively ended the marriage, while Funtzel served as both his employer and brother-in-law through the family business. Rocket Raccoon has an equally hostile history with Gomez, having dealt with him during earlier mercenary work and later helping send him to prison. Their temporary cooperation ends as soon as Gomez receives a better offer from Blackjack O’Hare, reinforcing that his loyalty rarely survives a sufficiently large payday.

Macho Gomez possesses no known superhuman powers, relying instead on extensive experience as an interstellar bounty hunter, gunfighter, and mercenary. He is skilled with firearms, dangerous in close combat, accustomed to pursuing targets across different worlds, and capable of surviving confrontations with opponents considerably more powerful than an ordinary criminal.

He carries a variety of alien firearms, favoring heavy pistols and other high-powered ranged weapons suited to bounty work. Gomez is also an experienced spacecraft pilot and has used his own personal vessel while traveling between contracts, giving him the mobility necessary to pursue targets across interstellar distances.
