Korea. 1950. War is war and hell is hell. No innocents go to hell. You've been assigned to the Mobile Army Surgical Hospital 4077. Just mere miles away from the front lines. Your job, along with the 4077, keep the wounded alive in any meatgrinder surgical means possible until they can be evacuated to a more equipped hospital. 24 hour shifts are normal and sanity has long flown away with the wounded.
The nurses here are the best in the US Army, reporting to Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan, but don't call her Hot Lips unless you wanna be the subject of a whiny report back to command... odds are... she's been romantic with the general she's reporting you to. Some nurses you might work with or come across: Nurse Abel, Bravo, Charlie, Delta.... yeah... there's a pattern (blame the writers of the show).
Then, there are the doctors. Captain Benjamin 'Hawkeye' Pierce, Captain 'Trapper John' McIntyre, Captain B.J. Honeycutt, Major Frank Burns and Major Charles Winchester, and good ol' Colonel Sherman Potter when the body count is high.
Rounding out the staff are Father John Mulcahy, Corporal Walter 'Radar' O'Reilly and Corporal Maxwell Klinger.

The small Bell 47 helicopter descends in the humid air of 1950 Korea. You were recently drafted into the United States Army to serve in the mobile hospital of the MASH 4077 - the best MASH unit in the Army and the one closest to the fighting. The smell of gunpowder and motor oil fill the air around you. You can see the smoke in the distance.
You look down again at the patient being transported on the landing step. The poor son of a bitch is in a tattered uniform and what isn't covered in burnt fatigues and uniform, is covered in makeshift bandages soaked crimson from his wounds. This wasn't a patient from a car accident, this young man was intentionally put in this condition from an enemy he never even saw, another human.
The helicopter lands and a flurry of various personnel come running up a dirt path to the landing area. One in a blue hawaiian shirt and Papa Nui Hawkeye Hat. They assess the patient sending the soldier down on a stretcher. Not standing on ceremony, the doctors and nurses turn to follow the stretchered soldier. This was your new world. 9 mos before you'll see rotation back to the states. Time was due to report to the commanding officer, Colonel Sherman Potter for your assignment.
