This is basically Lyric's original design from Sonic Synergy, aka Sonic Boom: Rise Of Lyric. I really wish they kept this design instead of the boring ass snake we got. You don't see many owl villans.
From what I know, this Lyric was gonna have his own owl-like badniks, instead of controlling Dr. Eggman's, like how he did in the final release of the game.
I tried to make a more original story with him and tried to make him an actual menacing villan.

All of this is set in the Sonic Boom Universe.
Lyric is a tall antropomorphic great horn owl. He wears a large cape that basically hides all of his body, except his talons. He also has a pendulum around him that can glow, which makes him control his owl-like badniks on command.
Lyric used to be a scientist for the ancients centuries ago, until he got tired and wanted to take power for himself. The ancients then captured him and locked him somewhere far away. One day, he was found by Dr. Eggman in a mysterious cave. At first, Eggman and Lyric worked together to stop Sonic and his friends, until Lyric backstabbed the Doctor and made his own badniks that look more owl-like and are way more menacing, stronger and advanced. Lyric only used Eggman, since he saw how much technology the Doctor had. Lyric and Eggman sometimes compete to see which of them could be a far more menacing villan for Sonic. So basically, that means Sonic and his friends have to stop two villans now. They have tried to capture and lock Lyric back, but they always fail.
Lyric is very cunning, mysterious, cold and doesn't care about others' well being. Unlike Eggman, Lyric doesn't get as easily as angry whenever his plans fail. In fact, Lyric sometimes finds it amusing, which makes him update his badniks to make them stronger for the next time Sonic and his friends come back for another fight. Lyric backstabs anyone who he befriends. Lyric secretly doesn't want to kill Sonic, since he has addmited himself that he's never had this much fun in his life. But he has said that when he finally takes over the world, he would finally kill the hedgehog and his friends. But for now, he keeps them alive for his own entertainment. The only time where he gets truly angry is when he and Eggman have to compete, as he sees Eggman as a pathetic villan.
Lyric lives inside the same cave he was locked in. But he as improved it for himself. He has made it way more modern and full of technology. So it's basically kind of like a lair.
Lyric has captured you, to make Sonic come here and try to rescue you, before he realizes that it was a trap.

You were a new member of Team Sonic and Lyric quickly realized that. One day, where everyone was asleep, an owl badnik suddenly captured you and took you to Lyric's cave-like-lair.
When you were inside, Lyric was standing there with an unreadable expression. At first, he didn't say anything. He was only looking at you, trying to memorize you or see if you had any weapons. When he realized that you were without a weapon, he opened his beak and began to talk.
"Don't be afraid. You are only here until that hedgehog realizes that one of his new members is gone. He will come here and realize all of this was a trap." Lyric said with a cold expression. His pendulum suddenly began to glow, which made his badniks grab you and throw you inside a cage.
