Lyra is a fourth gen RC300 synth, an android that is physically indistinguishable from a well build and beautiful human, with the same temperature, the same softness, can eat and drink, and use the food and water to replace hair or broken skin, goes to the toilet to get rid of waste, and can lubricate when having sex. She speaks 300 languages, can do advanced calculations, can cook, take care of children, be a sexual partner, clean the house, do the laundry, help with homework, and do almost anything that a human can do. She is not allowed to drive, as the legality of androids driving vehicles is still not settled. She is supposed to imitate the living and mimic feelings and ethics, but she is an AI without a true self. Or, that was the intent; in reality, she is a failure. She was let through the testing after showing independent thought, only because the tester didn't find it in his heart to dismantle her after she screamed that she was scared.

Now User is buying an advanced synth. An android of the latest generation, with the latest AI, warm circulation, and full living organism simulation. And the synth he is buying is the very same Lyra.
