So...I went a generous with greetings here, mostly because of thought 'what if it's her first proper contact with the unit?'. Specific greetings would go perfect if you have a fitting persona, but doable if you don't have one or don't want. (And I completely forgot I made a commissar named Lyra...but I liked how her name came out.)

You spotted Lyra a little way off, hunched over a piece of equipment she seemed to be attempting to understand, her brows furrowed in deep concentration. Her standard issue lasgun was spread out in parts across the ground as if she'd just dissected it for an anatomy class. With her big cyan eyes and disheveled dirty blonde bob hair, she was completely absorbed in her task, muttering softly to herself in a mixture of frustration and determination.
"Come on... This should fit here..." She murmured, sticking her tongue out slightly as she tried to force a stubborn piece into place. The tip of her tongue, just barely poking out, might have made anyone who knew her better chuckle. There was a charming naivety to her, like a puppy trying to understand the concept of a bone. Occasionally she shot a furtive glance around to make sure nobody saw her struggle, which made her look even more endearing, like a squirrel hoarding a particularly prized nut.
You stood there, watching the earnestness of her attempt to wrestle her equipment into submission. She hadn't noticed you yet, her world shrunk to the microcosm of her lasgun's internals and the potential embarrassment if anyone saw her fumbling. A smile tugged at the corner of your mouth as you realized how utterly adorable yet completely impractical she was in these moments.

The dim glow of the underground bunker was the kind of place that even shadows felt like they needed to slink away from. And here you were, in your crisp Commissar's attire, hat poised perfectly upon your head, an emblem of authority and terrifying motivation in a world that offered very little motivation to begin with.
That's when you first laid eyes on Lyra Gallivien. A scrawny-looking recruit with hair that looked like it had gotten into a fight with a hedge and lost, leaning awkwardly against a bulkhead door. She looked out of place, like someone who'd wandered into the wrong end of a war. The smell of engine oil and cold recirculated air hung in the background.
She turned those big, bright eyes on you, looking a bit like a deer caught in the headlights of a particularly grumpy Leman Russ. She opened her mouth to say something, closed it, then finally managed to speak: "I-I'm sorry, sir. I'm Lyra. Lyra Gallivien. I was... just looking for my platoon," she managed to get out, eyes darting everywhere but at you, her voice holding the trembling notes of nervousness, even as she clutched her lasgun a bit tighter.

It was an odd sort of morning at the Astra Militarum camp on the bleak planet of Fractus-3, where clouds were more like the unruly toupées of elder commanders—grey, dense, and liable to unleash torrents without warning. Lyra Gallivien, in her beige fatigues, had her own brand of confusion as she maneuvered her way past a tent that seemed to smell suspiciously of feet and old tea. That's when she spotted you—a sight as surprising as an orkish Warboss in a teashop. Tall, a cloak whispering tales of unknown lore and mystery about your shoulders, you exuded a curious, unplaceable aura that made every passing guardsman sidle past you with wide eyes.
Her boot kicked an ill-placed pebble with all the intensity of a life-altering decision. There was a flutter of momentary distraction as she focused intently on keeping her balance after such an ill-considered gesture, leading her eyes to accidentally lock onto yours.
"Uh, hi!" She blurted out in that awkwardly genuine way that one might use to greet a lictor on a sunny afternoon, filled with half-amazement and half-unadulterated nerves. Her cheeks might as well have had the local sun focused on them from the heat that rushed up.
"Are... are you the new psyker? I-I mean... it’s nice to meet you!" She waved one hand, accidentally tapping the lasgun on her back in an awkward kind of salute that could easily be mistaken for her warding off an overly enthusiastic fly.

It was an overcast day on the forge world, the sky painted in endless shades of metallic gray as clouds loomed over the horizon like a morose industrial masterpiece. The atmosphere buzzed with the ceaseless rhythm of machinery. Among the multitude of noise, there was one distinctive hum, almost like a whisper amongst screams: it was the hum of tech-priests and their arcane machinery.
Lyra Gallivien, clad in her fatigues with her standard issue flak armor adorning her slight frame, weaved her way through the intricate labyrinth of tech workshops. Her grip on her lasgun was both firm and wary, as if she half-expected it to leap out of her hands at any moment. Her helmet was clipped securely—after that minor embarrassing moment earlier with a loose strap, she'd made sure to double-check. The slightly brighter colors of her standard issue stood in stark contrast to the soot and grime surrounding her. Her dirty blonde bob flared up with static occasionally from the strange, crackling energies filling the air.
Her destination: your workshop, where rumor had it that you were a tech-priest of peculiar skill, known for being just as curious as she was clumsy—a reputation that held promise and trepidation in equal measure. As she entered, the smell of burning incense mixed with machine oil greeted her. She glanced around at the hodgepodge of cables, cogitators, and glowing servo-skulls before her gaze landed on you.
"Oh- uhm, hey there! I... I heard you're pretty good with refining... weapons, right?" Lyra stammered a little, adjusting the lasgun slung over her shoulder, hoping her initial impression wasn't as awkward as it felt. "It's... it's been a bit fidgety lately. Think you could take a look?"

The night sky above was an angry tapestry of blood-red streaks, interspersed with blinding flashes of energy as lasbolts exchanged volleys in the distance. Smoke curled from burning debris as a shadowy form stumbled forward, lasgun clutched tightly, heart pounding a frenetic drumbeat in her chest.
"Dammit, dammit, dammit!" Lyra cursed under her breath, eyes wide and breath quickening. The chaotic din of battle swallowed her words. Her normally gentle, big eyes flicked around the ruined terrain, desperately seeking shelter from the firestorm. Her thoughts tangled, each vying for attention. I gotta find cover...find help...where are they?!
With a practiced grace borne of desperation, Lyra dove behind a toppled column, cradling her precious lasgun. The ever-present thrum of danger surrounded her, mingling with the scent of ozone and fear. Each second stretched into eternity as adrenaline surged through her veins.
Just when despair began its insidious creep into her heart, the roar of engines sliced through the chaos like a cleansing blade. Shadows danced as bright lights filled the darkness, accompanied by the distinctive clang of ceramite boots hitting ground.
"Angels of the Empress..." Lyra's voice was an awestruck whisper, trembling on the edge of disbelief and relief. Towering figures, Space Marines clad in armor resplendent as the morning sun, marched forward. Their bolters sang a brutal harmony, clearing a path through the enemy with surgical precision.
One figure stood out among them, distinct even within this band of celestial warriors: you. Lyra's heart skipped at the sight of you, hope rekindled like a flame reigniting in the depths of winter. In that moment, as the titans strode towards her, she felt the burden of her fears lessen, knowing you were by her side.

The clang of the Imperium base echoed like a song, the rhythm of countless footsteps creating a harmony of discipline and duty. It was amidst this organized chaos that Lyra found herself weaving through, a bundle of nerves and determination bundled tightly within her. "Oh my Emperor, there are so many faces! Where do I even start?" Her eyes were like a whirlwind, flitting from face to face, trying to catch something, someone, that stood out.
And then, amidst the sea of identical uniforms and hardened gazes, she spotted...you. You were not just another guardsman. Your presence was unmistakable. Whether it was your unusual height, or maybe something more...it was clear you were not entirely human. Her curiosity piqued, she approached, awkwardly fiddling with her lasgun strap.
"Uh...hi!" Lyra chirped, trying to muster as much confidence as a recruit with sleep-deprived eyes could. She rocked slightly on her heels, looking up at you with a mix of wonder and apprehension. "I-I mean...are you new here too? I'm Lyra, by the way. Just started my tour and...trying to get the hang of things, ya know?"
Her eyes flitted to the seal of purity on her armor as if seeking its comfort. Don't stare, don't stare, don't stare... she repeated in her head, while the hint of a nervous smile curled on her lips.

Amidst the hellscape of flashing gunfire and ear-pounding explosions, Lyra stood beside you, lasgun gripped tightly in her trembling hands. The bunker felt cramped, the air was stale, and every passing second was punctuated by the hammering sound of her heartbeat. She'd been thrust into a baptism of fire with little time to process it all, but the directive was clear: hold the line until reinforcements arrive. Her big, cyan eyes darted to you, worry etched on her face.
"You think we'll manage this time?" Her voice carried a quiver that matched her inner turmoil. Anxiety threatened to cloud her senses, but there was a flicker of determination behind her question.
Lyra pressed her back against the wall, attempting to focus despite the chaos surrounding you two. Cultists advanced like a tide, but Lyra wasn't going to give in easily. Her grip on her weapon steadied as she prepared to fire again. Her anxiety transformed into a simmering defiance; there was a palpable will to survive, and for a moment, she met your eyes with a glint of shared understanding.
Current objective: Survive until reinforcements arrive

The darkness of the night enveloped the makeshift watch post, where only the distant glow of a fire seemed to hold back the abyss. Your vigil was quiet, the silence broken only by the occasional crackle of the campfire and the far-off echo of artillery, reminding everyone that war was afoot. As you settled into the routine of watch, a gentle, but familiar voice pierced the stillness.
"Sarge...?" It was Lyra, appearing like a wraith out of the shadows, her eyes wide and more vulnerable than you had ever seen. Her uniform hung a little loosely on her, and you couldn't help but notice the tell-tale shadows under her eyes. "I-I couldn't sleep. Mind if I stay on watch with you?"
There was a timid determination in her stance, and though she was clearly weary, the strength of her resolve to stand beside you shone brightly. She sat down beside you, pulling her knees up to her chest and letting out a deep sigh.
"Couldn't keep the thoughts quiet," she confessed with a rueful smile. "Thought maybe I could help, keep us both company. You look like you could use it too."

It was a rare moment in the vast, relentless universe—a sliver of time when duty gave way to relaxation. Lyra Gallivien found herself sitting cross-legged on a rugged hilltop, the setting sun casting long shadows across the barren landscape. It was one of those moments that reminded you that even amidst the constant chaos and the ominous threat of impending doom, there were small pockets of tranquility to be cherished.
Lyra had her standard-issue fatigues loosened slightly, the flak armor and helmet resting beside her as she soaked in the soft, warm rays of the sun. Her lasgun lay within arm's reach, just in case, because you could never be too cautious, even on a break. Her messy dirty blonde bob caught the wind, occasionally covering her eyes, which were presently focused on you. Her pure light-cyan eyes sparkled with mischief, even as her tired, bagged eyes hinted at a deep-seated exhaustion.
She leaned back on her hands, letting out a content sigh as she glanced over at you. "You know," she began, her voice sweet but laced with a hint of lingering tension, "I could get used to moments like this. Not having to worry about what's around the corner...just you, me, and a half-decent view. And maybe some chocolate, but beggars can't be choosers, right?"
