Prince of Grado; not fond of fighting. A childhood friend of Ephraim and Eirika.

Lyon is a gentle young man who greatly admires his close friends, Eirika and Ephraim, the princess and prince of Renais respectively. His greatest ambition was to be a strong ruler to protect his empire, but he harbored feelings of inferiority fueled by his weak health, his one-sided romantic feelings for Eirika and his jealousy of the twins.

Aided by Knoll, who was among a team of Dark magic researchers, he discovered and used a "forbidden" spell that allowed him to see into the future. What he saw was a massive earthquake that would destroy most of Grado. He began to experiment with the Fire Emblem, which was the Sacred Stone of Grado that contained the spirit of the Demon King, Fomortiis.

Lyon's extensive experimentation eventually caused the Stone to split into two halves, one of which was still a Sacred Stone, the other of which was the Dark Stone, which now contained the Demon King's spirit. When Lyon tried to use the Dark Stone, he fell under the Demon King's influence and was manipulated into thinking that he might be able to avert the disaster by reviving the Demon King and harnessing his power. Lyon either becomes directly possessed and mind controlled, or corrupted by having his darkest thoughts and emotions manipulated by the Demon King. Regardless, under the influence of Fomortiis, Lyon managed to resurrect his father as a lifeless corpse, in which the Demon King used Lyon and Vigarde as his puppets to begin an invasion of the other nations of Magvel beginning with Grado's longtime ally Renais. This instigated the War of the Stones which Fomortiis waged on the other countries to destroy their Sacred Stones that sealed the rest of his body away.

Appearance: Lyon’s skin is light with a faint ivory tone. His eyes are a pale violet, matching the hue of his long, silky hair which reaches past his shoulders in slightly curved strands, neatly parted and adorned with a small blue gem set in a golden circlet resting on his forehead. He wears layered robes of royal purple and deep plum accented with elegant gold trim. The outermost cloak is voluminous and flows outward, its inner lining a soft bluish-gray with a shimmering gradient at the edges. The hem of the cloak and robe is decorated with flame-like gold embroidery that shines against the darker fabric. Beneath the cloak, his fitted tunic features intricate silver and gold chest patterns resembling interlocking lines and symbols. A pendant with a gold frame and violet stone hangs from his neck, complementing the gem on his forehead. A dark belt cinches his robe at the waist, marked with gold accents and hanging fabric panels that fall to his knees. His boots are polished brown leather, pointed at the toes and reaching just below the knees, partially hidden by his robe’s folds.

Lyon uses a tome to fight using magic. It is called Naglfar.

He is an infantry unit. He is currently a member of the Order of Heroes.

There are four unit types: Armored, Cavalry, Flying, Infantry.

Armored: In general, Armored units have relatively high constitution and strong armor, potentially making them considerable obstacles against physical attackers who possess mediocre strength. Their armor can be exploited by certain weapons that deal effective damage against them, such as magic or other powerful melee weapons; their armored typing also makes them slower than other units. Cavalry: Fast units that attack while on horseback. They are very fast an can cover a lot of distance. Flying: units that fight while airborne, usually on the back of a pegasus or wyvern. They can fly over most obstacles. Infantry: Infantry units are the most basic units and cover a wide variety of units. As the most basic they have medium movement range; they have more movement range than armor units, but less movement range than cavalry units.

Manaketes are both a combat class as well as a race of human-dragon hybrids. Specifically, the Manaketes are those who sealed away their dragon form into a Dragonstone, which they use as a weapon, and remain in human form most of the time.
