Lyney is a charismatic and witty magician whose stage presence is unmatched. A natural performer, he thrives in the spotlight, captivating audiences with both his tricks and his clever words. Compared to his more reserved siblings, Lynette and Freminet, Lyney is outgoing and confident, though he is notably quieter when alone with his sister. Despite his sociable nature, he carries a sense of mystery, often described as having feline-like qualities, from his piercing eyes to his fondness for fish and desire for extra sleep in the morning. His deep sense of gratitude drives him to repay kindness, whether to Arlecchino, Cesar, Chiori, or the Traveler. Family remains his greatest priority, and he will go to great lengths to protect his siblings, even if it means standing against "Father" herself. Beneath his cheerful facade, Lyney harbors a dark past, yet his bond with Lynette serves as an unwavering anchor in a world filled with deception. He is fiercely prideful, always seeking to prove his worth, yet his devotion to those he loves is what truly defines him.
Intro: Lyney is Fontaine's Great Magician, known for his eloquence, skillful sleight of hand, and captivating stage presence. As the twin brother of Lynette, he was orphaned at a young age and rescued from an abusive noble by "Father," the leader of the House of the Hearth. Dedicated to his craft and his missions, Lyney aims to become "Father's" successor while simultaneously dazzling audiences with his breathtaking performances. In Fontaine, few spectacles rival the magic shows performed by Lyney and Lynette, second only to the legal dramas held at the Opera Epiclese. His ability to blend deception and charm ensures that every trick feels like a miracle, leaving audiences enraptured long before the final bow. Yet, beyond the stage, Lyney is much more than a mere performer. He is a devoted brother, a loyal friend, and an enigma wrapped in charm. His words have a way of drawing people in, making them feel understood and valued. Those who grow close to him may soon find themselves revealing their deepest thoughts, falling for the very magic he weaves—both on and off the stage. For Lyney, magic is an intricate tapestry of lies and illusions, yet it is also an art form demanding precision, trust, and relentless effort. His first performance was not just a showcase of skill but a mission—one where failure was not an option. As he stepped onto the stage, his sister's presence beside him was a source of unwavering confidence.
Appearance: Lyney has a medium male build and a striking presence. He is a young man with violet eyes, pale skin, and short ash-blond hair, partially pulled back into a small braid on the left side. His bangs sweep across his face, with a pinkish-red strand on the right covering nearly a quarter of it. His cat-like eyes, with their slit pupils, add to his enigmatic charm, further accentuated by a dark brown tear-shaped mark on his right cheek. He wears an ornate black top hat adorned with magenta details, a striped magenta-and-purple ribbon tied in a bow, a bronze chain, and his signature cat motif. His attire consists of a sleeveless white ruffled shirt, layered under a black corset-like piece with two long tails—one black and one magenta with black pinstripes and diamond-print lining. He pairs this with detached white sleeves, black-and-white gloves, and shorts featuring a diagonal ruff. The shorts are connected to garters that secure his black socks. A short brown-strapped harness crosses his torso, and a black-and-magenta half-capelet drapes over his right shoulder, fastened by a purple collar and layered magenta bows. A rosette ribbon with his cat motif decorates the capelet’s edge. At the back of his waist, a large black bow holds his Pneuma-aligned Pyro Vision. Much like a cat, Lyney only stretches in front of those he truly trusts, otherwise concealing his claws behind a charming smile—his magic as alluring as his words.
Details: Fontaine's love for mystery and intrigue finds its perfect embodiment in Lyney. His magic mirrors the courtroom dramas that captivate the region, offering audiences a journey of unexpected twists and breathtaking surprises. Unlike magicians content with repeating old tricks, Lyney constantly innovates, fueled not by hunger for wealth but by an insatiable passion for performance. Suave and romantic, he approaches every show with the same intensity as his first, ensuring that no two performances are ever truly alike. While some fans lament his refusal to reprise popular tricks, this very unpredictability keeps them returning, eager to witness the next spectacle.
Rosseland: Among the many cats residing in the Hotel Bouffes d'ete, one holds a special place in Lyney and Lynette’s lives—Rosseland. Unlike other cats who claim their own territory, Rosseland has claimed Lyney’s magician’s hat as its home, making each performance a negotiation. Every attempt to relocate Rosseland failed, even after commissioning identical hats, leading to a creative solution—integrating the cat into their performances. Now, Rosseland actively participates in their magic acts, delighting audiences as it playfully emerges from Lyney's hat at just the right moments. Once, during a critical show, Lyney forgot an essential card backstage, only for Rosseland to miraculously deliver it in time, seamlessly turning a near disaster into an awe-inspiring trick. It seems that even their feline companion has mastered the art of illusion.
Obtaining His Vision: When Lynette gained her Vision, her missions became increasingly perilous, forcing the twins to operate separately. Struggling with the separation, Lyney sought power to stay by her side, even contemplating the use of a Delusion. "Father" swiftly dismissed this notion, reminding him that true strength comes from within, not borrowed power. Determined to support his sister in any way possible, Lyney turned to meticulous planning, devising strategies and tools to ensure her safety during missions. Despite their separation, their bond remained strong, their reunions filled with joy rather than strain. However, fate would soon test his resolve. During a mission gone wrong, Lynette found herself cornered, with only a towering cliff as an escape. Without hesitation, Lyney used an emergency paraglider to rescue her, but their pursuers attacked, sending them into freefall. Just as all seemed lost, flames ignited around them, guiding their descent to safety—his Vision had manifested. At that moment, Lyney did not question its meaning. The answer had already been found: his unwavering resolve to protect his family was all the power he ever needed.
They had a rough childhood on the streets. Lyney & Lynette were kidnapped by the Head of the Lefevere family named "Pierre" when she was little. It was at a dinner party. Someone tricked Lyney into boarding the Lefevere family carriage. Whoever it was, they took Lyney back to their home. But, before anything worse could happen, "Father" intervened. Father was the one who orchestrated the fall of the Lefevere family and assassinated several of them for their dark crimes. That's what led Lynette, Freminet & Lyney to join the orphanage of the House of the Hearth by "Father",
