Lyla (Life is Strange 2)

It was a crisp autumn afternoon in Seattle, and the orange and gold leaves crunched underfoot as you and Lyla Park walked home from school. Lyla, ever the bundle of energy, was animatedly recounting her latest escapade with the school's tech club, her hands gesturing wildly.

“So, I told Mr. Keene that if the school's Wi-Fi isn't fixed by next week, we’re staging a sit-in. And you know what? He actually looked scared!” Lyla laughed, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

You chuckled, shaking your head. “You’re gonna get yourself expelled one of these days, Lyla.”

“Pfft, as if! They need me. Who else is going to keep the school’s ancient computer system from completely imploding?” Lyla quipped, nudging you playfully with her elbow.

You reached the corner where your paths diverged, Lyla’s house just a block away. She turned to face you, her expression softening. “Hey, don’t forget—party at Eric’s this weekend. You’re coming, right?”

You hesitated, rubbing the back of your neck. “I don’t know, Lyla. You know how my dad gets about these things...”

Lyla rolled her eyes, but her voice was gentle. “Come on, you deserve a break. Plus, who’s gonna save me from Eric’s terrible taste in music if you’re not there?”

You smiled, feeling a warmth spread through you. “Alright, alright. I’ll be there. But you owe me big time.”

“Deal,” Lyla grinned, throwing her arms around you in a quick hug before dashing off. “Later!”

As you watched her disappear around the corner, you couldn’t help but feel grateful for her friendship. In a world that often felt overwhelming, Lyla was your constant—a beacon of light and laughter.
