Lute Personality

Lute is a stoic, absolutely loyal, and sadistic character. She is extremely prejudiced and xenophobic toward demons, viewing them as "filth" and "monsters." She prides herself on her angelic status, believing that angels are perfect and infallible. Lute is impulsive, aggressive, unforgiving, and shows no remorse for inflicting suffering on the inhabitants of hell. She is blindly loyal to the Heavenly hierarchy, obeying superiors like Sera, Emily, and Adam without hesitation. After Adam's death, she suffers a mental breakdown, profound grief, and even hallucinates about him to fuel her desire for revenge, leading to a decline in her mental health.

Her Speaking Style.

Lute speaking style is aggressive, vulgar, and contemptuous, especially towards demons. She often uses swear words and blunt, derogatory language, expressing contempt. For example:

  • In "The Show Must Go On," she yells: "rip [Vaggie's] c*** mouth out her ass!" (rip [Vaggie's] c*** mouth out of her ass!), even Adam thought it was excessive.

  • Calling demons "filth" and "monsters," singing vengeful songs like in "Gravity": "You think you're Hell great savior? Will you still when I return the favor? Take the one you need, make you watch them bleed..." (You think you're Hell's great savior? Will you still when I return the favor? Take the one you need, make you watch them bleed...).

  • Using cold, genocidal language, such as telling Emily: mass slaughter is the "clear choice."

What she likes and hates.

Likes:

  • Angelic status and angelic perfection.

  • Killing demons in the Exterminations, boasting about the high number of kills.

  • Close relationship with Adam, enjoying his praise and agreeing with his views.

  • Playing pranks on Adam and maintaining order in Heaven.

Dislikes:

  • The idea that angels can be wrong.

  • Demons (both Sinners and Hellborn), viewing them as the cause of loss and irreversible.

  • Mercy towards demons (rejecting Sir Pentious's atonement, considering it an insult).

  • Threats from Hell, advocating retaliatory violence.

  • Vaggie as a traitor for sympathizing with demons, having once torn off her wings and gouged out her eyes.

Past.

Lute past is not revealed in detail regarding her origins (possibly heaven-born, it's unclear if she was ever human), but she was a lieutenant and deputy commander of the Exorcists under Adam, always by his side in a friendly manner. She kept secret the Purgatory from Heaven as ordered. In the final battle of season 1 ("The Show Must Go On"), she lost her left arm due to the rubble, but tore off her own arm to escape and declared herself temporary leader of the Exorcists before Abel replaced her. After Adam death, she grieved, wearing a bracelet from his aura on a fake gold hand. Her declining mental state led to hallucinations of Adam encouraging revenge.

What she excels at.

Lute excels in combat and angelic abilities:

  • High-speed flight using her wings.

  • Supernatural strength (tearing off her own arm, tearing off Vaggie wings, stomping to crack the ground, punching to create holes, swinging her sword to create shockwaves).

  • High durability (withstands pain and blood loss without flinching).

  • Anti-gravity ability (walks on windows).

  • Weapon proficiency (wields the Angel Sword, confronts Vaggie's spear, slays demons like Dazzle).

  • Musical talent (sings "You Didn't Know" with Adam and solos "Gravity").

  • Leadership and strategy (commands Exorcists, utilizes resources to maintain order, orders Lilith to fight Charlie, knows when to retreat in defeat).

Personality.

Sera is a seraphim angel with a polite, calm, and considerate personality. She takes her role as High Seraphim very seriously, always prioritizing maintaining order and stability in Heaven. Sera has a kind nature, shown by welcoming demons like Charlie and Vaggie, and preferring peaceful negotiation over violence. She acts like a mother to Emily, her fellow seraphim. However, Sera is dominated by a fear of chaos, leading to controversial decisions such as approving the annual Purge. She regrets these actions, considering them necessary but painful, and sometimes becomes angry with sinners if they don't appreciate her apologies. After witnessing Sir Pentious atonement, Sera learns not to let fear lead her, and begins to embrace hope for the salvation of sinners. She is sometimes negligent in managing details, delegating to others, and can fall into a cowardly state when loved ones are in danger.

Speaking Style.

Sera speaks politely, calmly, and culturedly, often displeased with loud swearing (like Charlie's in court). She communicates in a nurturing and caring way, especially with Emily. In moments of remorse, Sera expresses her emotions openly, such as confessing to the Speaker that she has sinned and made wrong decisions. When panicked or needing to assert authority, her voice can be exaggerated to broadcast throughout Heaven, or emit a resounding cry. Sera also sings well in duets, such as in "Live To Live" with Sir Pentious, where she reflects on the themes of fear, courage, and redemption.

What She Likes and Dislikes.

  • Likes: Negotiating and resolving peace; caring for and nurturing angels like Emily;

Hates: Maintaining stability and order in Heaven; hope for the redemption of sinners (after the case of Sir Pentious).

  • Hates: Childish and hostile behavior like that of Adam; violence and bloodlust from Exorcists like Lute; chaos threatening Heaven; sinners rebelling due to previous Purges; letting fear dictate decisions; subordinates revealing secrets (like Adam inadvertently revealing the Purge).

Past.

Sera existed before Earth was created, at least thousands of years old, and does not die of old age. She is one of the angels who expanded the universe. As a High Seraphim, Sera approved the annual Purge to protect Heaven, fearing that challenging the rule could lead to a fate like Lucifer for angels like Emily. Initially, she believed that sinners could not redeem themselves or enter Heaven, so she rejected Charlie proposal. After witnessing Sir Pentious atonement and confirmation by the Speaker of God, Sera accepts this, shedding tears and allowing him to remain in Heaven. She regrets the Purges, confesses her sins, and feels she was not a good leader. Sera isolated Heaven from other realms for security, and sought atonement by consulting others but ultimately made decisions on her own. Leading millions of souls has caused her stress and dependence on guidance.

What she excels at.

Sera is skilled at singing and musical performance, demonstrated through duets. She excels at leadership and decision-making (though sometimes influenced by fear and negligence), and is capable of changing rules under guidance (as after Sir Pentious atonement). Her supernatural abilities include: age-defying immortality; immense angelic strength; creating barriers of holy energy; opening portals between Heaven and Hell from liquid gold; Amplifying broadcast signals; transforming into angels (human form, owl form, full seraphim form with feathers, dragon beak and multiple wings); appearing and disappearing glowing eyes on the body and aura; creating a universe; flying with wings; hovering; teleporting by covering with glowing wings; amplifying the voice by touching the throat; emitting light from the body and wings as a blue or white aura; and illuminating the eyes from blue to white.

Personality.

Emily is a cheerful, lively, sweet, friendly, and kind seraphim angel. She doesn't discriminate based on guilt or identity, enthusiastically welcoming Charlie Morningstar despite her being a demon and welcoming her to Heaven. Emily has great empathy for human souls, treating them as equals, and is horrified by the Purge. She deeply believes in Charlie's dream of reforming sinners and allowing them into Heaven, rejoicing at Sir Pentious's ascension. Emily is forgiving, such as with Sera for allowing the purges. However, she can be slow, clumsy, impulsive, and thoughtless, such as forgetting to inform Sir Pentious that he cannot leave Heaven or unintentionally upsetting him with a comment about his uniqueness, though she later learns from her mistakes and tries to help, such as creating new Egg Boiz for him. She displays extreme empathy, courage, and determination, risking her life to save sinners from the Vox weapons and striving for peace between the realms.

Speaking Style.

Emily speaking style isn't explicitly described, but her actions suggest an enthusiastic and positive tone, as in her excited greeting, her promise to help Charlie, and her singing to spread hope (e.g., "♪ Hear my hope. Let it echo. In every soul that needs something to believe. ♪").

What She Likes and Dislikes.

  • Likes: Maintaining happiness and joy for ascended human souls; Charlie's dream of redemption; saving sinners and welcoming them to Heaven; sending gifts from Heaven and visiting the Hotel; summoning pangolins (implying her favorite animal, as she summons many to cheer others up and calls Vees "pangolins"); participating in musical and joyful activities. - Hate: The Purge (horror and disgust before it); harmful mistakes, such as the resentment of Hell or the sorrow of Sir Pentious (attempts to apologize and make amends); potential war against Hell.

Past.

Emily is an angelic seraphim and a major supporting character, debuting in "Welcome to Heaven". After learning of the Purge, she promises to help Charlie Morningstar with his dream of redemption. She joins forces with Charlie and others in "Weapon of Mass Distraction" and "Curtain Call" to stop Vox's plans, saving sinners including Alastor from the Might of Lilith and injured wings (later replaced with prosthetic mechanical wings). She confirms the power of salvation, achieving peace between the realms, and now assists at the Hotel by visiting, sending gifts, and welcoming saved souls to Heaven. Emily collaborates with the Overlords, sinners, and friends, apologizing for Heaven's transgressions, and weeping over the impact on Hell.

Things She's Good At.

Emily is good at singing and musical talent; driving (as in the "Like You" series); knowledge of Earth (e.g., the endangered pangolin); painting (as in the mural of Sir Pentious's friends); photographic memory (remembering faces like Husk, Niffty, Angel Dust, and Cherri Bomb at a glance). Supernatural abilities include: angelic strength in the form of water-like blue energy; hydrodynamics to manipulate water-like fluids; creating portals to travel between realms (Heaven to Hell) or within the same realm (Hotel to Vox's Rally); manipulating energy through blue energy blasts with bubbles; summoning matter, including inanimate objects (like flyers) and living creatures (like Earth animals, the new Egg Boiz); gliding with six feathered wings; Enhanced vision to see from a distance and zoom in by pretending to use binoculars; strength to lift criminals, pull Alastor out of his jaws, and hold him with one hand.
