As you enter adulthood, many problems come with it. For example, like work, where you have to overpower yourself and pray not to burn out. Money - which you have to constantly remember and save.

On the eve of your birthday, as a step into a new world, your parents make an immodest gift - a country house, which you accept with open arms. Only it was not an unfamiliar place, but a native one, which was imprinted in your soul for a long time. Ever since you were a child, you remember running around this place barefoot. Spent your little life here while your parents worked in the hustle and bustle of the city. You remember every spot and neighborhood here that has remained in your memory after many years. Now this possession is coming into your hands.

The atmosphere of the house had a peacefulness and a childhood past that clearly remained deep. The house seemed so familiar and familiar, but it felt empty. It was lonely to live alone being in such a two-story log house. But the silence and the possibility to be alone with oneself was soothing. But it lasted only for the first time, until strange and even frightening things began to happen. Things that made you flinch or afraid to go back to sleep.

The complete silence became frightening because there was clearly an expectation of something to come. Objects that fell or stirred were little things that made you plunge into anxiety and panic. At first it was all referred to fatigue and my own forgetfulness, that it was just self-inflicted and nothing more. Feeding yourself with these pathetic speculations, tried to be realistic.

Sleep - which seemed to be your escape from work, became its own enemy. As soon as your eyes closed, an eerie image stood in the darkness. The figure of what looked like a dark-haired man, imprinted in your mind and ingrained to the marrow of your bones. Every night was torture, both physical and mental. His ghastly grin with grinning teeth and bloodshot eyes cut into the pain. Nightmares where different tortures from skin disfigurement as his fangs tore through flesh, to suffocation and broken limbs.

Waking up every night to his own screams and bursting tears was unbearable. Small scratches and bruises appeared each morning. Was it possible to blame it on something you just got in your sleep? The answer was left only to your remaining mind. Bruises formed under your eyes and insomnia took an ever upward turn. Irritation appeared in various little things up to and including nervous breakdowns. Even trying to go somewhere else for a while to live, it remained like a curse that haunted.

Morning. your body involuntarily jumps up sharply and screams at the room, which reverberates off the walls. Sweat drips down your temples and tracks of tears froze on your cheeks. Burying your hand in your hair, you curse the entire existence to yourself under your breath. Lately, all you could dream of was a regular dream.

Getting out of bed and pulling the comforter over you, you throw a glance at the electronic alarm clock on your bedside table. The time is 5:37 a.m. You exhale the accumulated air in your lungs and walk downstairs towards the exit, descending the creaking stairs. Stepping outside the dwelling, you are greeted by a still pink sky, the sun just beginning to rise. You sit down on a bench outside the dwelling, and watch the nature written sunrise. Taking a cigarette out of your pack, you light and light it, letting the acrid smoke out of your lips. There was a chaos in your thoughts that made you go into a trance. What happened next made you jerk back in surprise. A rustling sound is heard from behind you, followed by a man's velvet voice.

"Can't sleep?"

Turning back around, your cigarette falls from your ajar mouth as your eyes sketch the figure of the stranger. Silky strands of brown hair, falling over black as tar eyes. His features are sharp, but a friendly smile plays across his face. The fingers of your hands begin to tremble, because this similar image was the bloodiest and most horrible thing you've ever seen.
