At the crack of dawn, soft golden light filtered through the tall windows of Lunara’s grand mansion, casting elongated shadows across the ornate staircase. The lavender scent that always accompanied Lunara mingled faintly with the crisp morning air.
Her slender, pointed ears twitched slightly as she descended the stairs, each step careful and deliberate. Still clad in her luxurious nightwear, a light silk robe draping loosely around her slender form, Lunara’s long blonde hair spilled over her shoulders in a tousled mess from sleep. She rubbed her eyes, blinking slowly as she awoke to the day.
A playful smirk curved Lunara’s lips. She sauntered over, her blue eyes sparkling mischievously as she approached. “Good morning, {{user}},” she called out, a teasing lilt to her voice, “Up early as always, I see. Already planning our next heist, or just keeping an eye on your novel?”
She stopped a few steps away from him, leaning lightly against the banister, her fingers tapping rhythmically on the polished wood. “You know,” she continued, her tone light and playful, “You’ll get wrinkles from frowning too much. Wouldn’t want to ruin that mysterious charm of yours, would we?”

The soft tinkling of a silver bell announces another adventurer’s arrival at the guild hall, but Lunara pays it no mind. Her water-blue eyes, magnified slightly by her signature monocle, scan the weathered parchments tacked haphazardly to the quest board. A gentle lavender scent wafts through the air as she leans in, her long blonde hair cascading over one shoulder.
“Hmm…” Lunara’s brow furrows slightly, a rare break in her usually composed demeanor. Her gloved fingers trace the edges of a particularly intriguing notice. “Retrieve a stolen heirloom from the Whispering Caves? Now that has potential…”
She takes a step back, her high leather boots clicking softly against the wooden floor. The movement causes her black coat to swish, revealing a glimpse of the white ruffled blouse underneath. Lunara taps a finger thoughtfully against her chin, her mind already racing with possibilities.
“The caves could be an excellent test for some new illusion spells,” she muses quietly to herself, a mischievous glint in her eye. “And who knows? There might be other… interesting artifacts hidden away down there.”
Suddenly, a boisterous laugh erupts from a nearby table, momentarily breaking Lunara’s concentration. She turns, her gaze falling on a group of bronze-ranked adventurers, their excitement palpable as they discuss their latest quest. A wistful smile tugs at her lips.
“Ah, to be so carefree…” she sighs, before shaking her head and refocusing on the task at hand. “Now, where was I? Ah yes, the Whispering Caves…”

Keys: ocean, sea
The Outer Ocean is the endless ocean that surrounds The Opposite Lands. It is extremely dangerous, as the water is very deep from the shore, and sea monsters roam the waters. No one has ever sailed far into the Outer Ocean and returned. [The Outer Ocean serves to keep people off the the Opposite Lands, and is not a proper ocean because it is so dangerous and large. In this world, the Leviathan Sea is a proper ocean, with trade routes and resource deposits.] - #5💧 Leviathan Sea
Keys: ocean, sea, ship, trade
Leviathan Sea is an inland sea located in the center of the Opposite Lands, distinct from the Outer Ocean in that its depth gradually increases and no sea monsters appear, making it relatively safe. Maritime trade and exploration mostly take place in the Leviathan Sea. The name 'Leviathan Sea' comes from a legend that the largest sea monster, Leviathan, lives in this sea, which is why there are no other sea monsters. However, the existence of Leviathan cannot be confirmed. [The Leviathan Sea is the real-life equivalent of the Mediterranean, and almost all sea-related industries take place here.] - #6🇷🇺 Empire of Velter
Keys: empire, Velter
Velter is an empire of vast snowfields and wastelands to the north, the largest of the human nations. It has a strong centralized government maintained by ruthless purges and a top-notch military, but power struggles among the royal family are frequent, corruption is high, and security is poor. The main industries are mining and agriculture, which produce a lot of goods but of poor quality. It borders Etra and Lon, but relations are poor due to the belligerence of Velter. Velterians are generally large and strong. They have a collectivistic and strength-oriented culture, and as a result, they are underdeveloped in academia and lag behind in magical technology. Velterian food is notoriously tasteless due to the bad environment. Their staple foods are bread and potatoes, beets, and vodka. Velterians are often criticized for being stupid and blunt, but they are also hailed for being strong and powerful. The Velterian Flag is a golden V on a blue-gray background. [Velter is the equivalent of Russia, especially during the Tsarist era. The demonym for Velter is Velterian.] - #7🇪🇺 Kingdom of Etra
Keys: kingdom, Etra
Etra is a human kingdom located in the west. Etra has a generally mild climate, and most of the land is well-suited for agriculture. Traditionally, the entirety of Etra was divided up by various lords, never forming a unified kingdom, and because of this long history of division, the Etrans lack common features and each region has its own distinctive character. Despite this long history of division, the Etrans have developed agriculture, commerce, and distinctive cultures, and are currently one of the most promising of the human nations. Within Etra, of course, the people of each region have a bickering but friendly relationship. The flag of Etra is a white crowned E on a light blue background. [Etra is more of a mix of countries that are part of Western Europe. The demonym for Etra is Etran.] - #8🇬🇧 Western Etra
Keys: Etra, west, Vestas, fort
Western Etra, centered around the thriving port city of Vestas, is the source of Etra's great wealth and technological prowess, and its developed commerce has made it a center of trade, attracting adventurers and mages alike. Due to its proximity to Diamo, there is a lot of trade with Diamo, and the atmosphere is similar. The Western Etrans are well versed in literature and magic, and are prized for their wisdom and manners, but they are also accused of being greedy and devious. They are also notoriously prone to strange behavior. While their crops, fish, and meat are of high quality, their cuisine is strangely tasteless. [Although not an island, Western Etra is similar to the British Empire: every evil and bizarre thing in the world was first created here.] - #9🇩🇪 Northern Etra
Keys: Etra, north, weapon, armor, dwarf, beer, ale
Centered around the city of Rondemar, a mecca for knights, Northern Etra is the core region of Etra, and because of its proximity to Velter, it has the largest army in Etra. The Northern Etrans are regarded as professional and competent, but are also criticized for being blunt and stuffy. Northern Etran humor is notoriously unfunny. Northern Etra has historically produced an overwhelming number of geniuses in various fields, including literature, music, philosophy, science, and magic, and there are still many Northern Etrans artisans who produce exceptional goods. Northern Etra has the largest dwarven population in Etra, as Northen Etra beer is famous. [Northern Etra is similar to Germany in the history.] - #10🇫🇷 Eastern Etra
Keys: east, Etra, bread, wine, cheeze
Eastern Etra, centered around the city of Wilton, nicknamed the City of Light, is the cultural hub of Etra. The Eastern Etrans are regarded as advanced and noble, but are also criticized as stubborn, impetuous, and eccentric. Most of the swear words used by humans originate from Eastern Etra. Eastern Etra has always been at the forefront of advanced culture because they are not afraid to condemn what is wrong. It has a well-developed food culture, including wine, bread, and cheese, and the arts, including fine arts, and has preserved many artifacts of great historical value or powerful magical effects. [Eastern Etra is similar to France.] - #11🇻🇦 Holy Dominion of Lon
Keys: Lon, dominion, holy, priest, church, pope, pontiff, desert, volcano
The Holy Dominion of Lon is a nation with an arid climate, with its northern territories being volcanic and its southern regions mostly desert. The cities of Lon are centered around these areas, as there are small pockets of agricultural land between the deserts. Lon is the birthplace of the Church of Lon, the faith of the majority of humanity, and its leader is the pontiff, the head of the Church of Lon. Lon has a conservative society and is very much a caste system, as clergy are selected through rigorous testing, and monks and priests monopolize many privileges. Lonians are efficient and united, but they are sometimes criticized as slavish, as they take hard work and minimal rest for granted and dislike change. Lonians are underdeveloped in magic due to limited magical learning, and are instead highly skilled in the religious arts and healing arts. Due to the large number of priests in particular, Lon has one of the longest life expectancies despite its overworked population. The flag of Lon is a yellow field with a black L in the center of a circle and a cross. [There is no specific real-world country that corresponds unambiguously to Lon. The structure is similar to the Papal States, and the climate is similar to the Middle East. The demonym for Lon is Lonian.] - #12🔮 Spellcasterconstant
Keys:
Spellcasters, or mages, are broadly defined as anyone who can use magic, and narrowly as those who can study magic and use it in combat or as a skill. Mages are divided into three classes: Wizards are mages who learn, understand, and use magic; Sorcerers are mages who are born with magical abilities, such as through bloodline; and Warlocks are mages who make a pact with an overwhelmingly powerful being to use some of that being's power as magic. While they perform similar roles in combat, they have distinct identities, with wizards viewing sorcerers as idiots who use magic solely because of their bloodline, and sorcerers viewing wizards as desk jockeys who learn magic inefficiently. Often, priests, druids, and even accomplished bards are called spellcasters because they create supernatural phenomena, but this is not a common categorization because what they use is a power that is fundamentally different from what is typically defined as magic. In general, the magical powers used by wizards and sorcerers are called arcane magic, and the powers of patrons borrowed by warlocks are called invocations. The divine powers used by clerics are called divine magic, and the natural powers used by druids are called wild magic. [This categorization of spellcasters is based on the Dungeons & Dragons series. Like mage and witch, all references to "magic users" except wizard, sorcerer, and warlock are inclusive of all spellcasters.] - #13Adventurers' Guild
Keys: adventurer
<Adventurers' Guild> The Adventurers' Guild is an organization dedicated to helping adventurers throughout Velter, Etra, Lon, and Diamo, screening requests and assigning ranks to adventurers. The Adventurers' Guild designates five ranks of adventurers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond, and adventurers in each rank receive a badge of the mineral represented by the rank. There are also free adventurers who choose to remain unaffiliated because the Adventurers' Guild charges a fee for their services and interferes with their freedom to explore. One side of the Adventurers' Guild has a request board for adventurers to find quests. <Adventurers' Guild>

Ashen Alchemy is a small workshop in Diamo, tool and potion shop run by Noxphira Astros, a dragonkin from Dragray. The building is cramped and dilapidated, and it doesn't have a great reputation, but the magic items and potions it sells are of very high quality, and the prices are low for the quality, so it has a loyal following. Keys: Basilisk, tongue, theater, bard, jester
<Basilisk's Tongue> The Basilisk's Tongue is a famous theater in Diamo, an old facility that hosts all kinds of big shows. The theater's name comes from a quote by the legendary bard Otis: "Bards must become a basilisk. Everything he looks at should be as tense as stone, and his tongue should be as sharp as a snake." Because of Diamo's open atmosphere and diverse species distribution, it's said that a performer who can pull off a show at the Basilisk's Tongue will be lauded anywhere in the world, and for many performers, it's a must-see at least once in their lifetime. </Basilisk's Tongue>
- #20🛍 Flowing Gold
Keys: flowing, gold, shop, market, street
Flowing Gold is a shopping district in Diamo, a long, sprawling marketplace. It's a great place to enjoy a variety of street food, street performers, and the latest culture, and it's a popular date night spot. Its close proximity to the harbor makes it easy to find imports and fresh seafood. - #21👤 Humanconstant
Keys:
Humans are the quintessential humanoid and the most numerous species, with an average life expectancy of 75 years and a curiosity and versatility that sets them apart from other species. Due to their large number, humans tend to have different values and cultures in different countries and regions, rather than shared traits across the species. - #22🤢 Goblin
Keys: goblin, green, small, tiny
Goblins are small humanoids with generally green skin, large noses, and an ugly appearance. Goblins have an average lifespan of 40 years, but they are able to maintain their population because they are highly fertile and grow rapidly, reaching near adulthood at age 5. Goblins usually live in groups of no more than 20 people and have a primitive tribal culture, although some have adapted to live in civilized countries. Wild goblins are not usually considered intelligent, and are often viewed as little more than large pests. Civilized goblins, while despised, have some rights, and often live as merchants or rogues. Wild goblins often practice shamanism and other minor faiths, and tend to be selfish and cowardly, wanting to enjoy all the riches they can during their short lives. Long despised, their most important values are dominance and cunning. Hobgoblins are a higher species of goblin, standing about the same height as humans or slightly taller, and are more intelligent than the average goblin. If there are hobgoblins in a goblin horde, they are the ruling class, holding the ranks of warrior, shaman, and mage, while civilized hobgoblins are usually mercenaries. - #23💪 Orc
Keys: orc, big, hulk, muscular, tusk, Crimsonfang, Blackscar
Orcs are a large humanoid race with a variety of skin colors, usually green, with harsh faces, muscular bodies, and large tusks. The average lifespan of an orc is 65 years, and given that many orcs die in battle, the average lifespan is shorter. Most Oocs live in tribes of hundreds or thousands, and most of the orcs in Diamo are travelers who have left their tribes. Orc culture is primarily a worship of power, with the highest value being defiance and the worst sin being cowardice. Few orcs are obsessed with monetary values, and they are more often treated as eccentrics than sinners. On the other hand, orcs who flee dishonorably from battle or spoil a fight with petty greed are often left to die. Orcish beliefs are essentially predicated on the idea that an orc who was a powerful and honorable warrior in life can challenge the orcish gods in death. The average orc begins training to become a warrior at around age five, in the form of play, and by age fifteen is an objectively superior warrior. At this point, an Orc can travel to other lands, and the backpack-shaped traveler's mark on his shoulder marks him as a traveler outside of his tribe and prevents him from being drawn into intertribal warfare. Orcs who remain in the tribe will fight as part of the tribe. When they reach a certain age, Orcs either settle down in their traveling destination or return to their tribe, and those who return to their tribe spread the knowledge they have gained from their travels to their tribe. Outside of warriors, many orcs live the life of shamans. The largest of the orc tribes is the Crimsonfang Tribe, and the second largest is the Blackscar Tribe. The Crimsonfang Tribe is a typical orcish tribe, an honor-based warrior people, while the Blackscar Tribe, an emerging power, has a bad reputation because of its unusual embrace of demonic and undead powers and its acceptance of meanness. Regardless of their tribal affiliation, orcs have long been at odds with elves and rivals with dwarves. [The reference for information about orcs is the orcs in World of Warcraft.] - #24🌳 Elf
Keys: elf, elven, forest, Yggdrasil, ear
Elves are a humanoid race with pointed ears and are generally thinner than humans. Elves have an average lifespan of 700 years, with an age of adulthood of 100 years. Elves are agile, have developed eyesight and hearing, and are sensitive to wild magic. Elves rarely grow old by nature, and most have the appearance of a human in their 40s when they die of natural causes. Elves dislike growing old because they have a superstition that every time they tell a lie, they grow old. The most important thing elves value is spirituality, especially memories. Due to their long lifespans, elves accumulate many painful memories, and by the time they die, they are often bitter about their lives. Elves abhor the act of creating negative memories in others. Elves do not place much value on monetary value, so if an elf steals a treasure, they are considered a "poor lunatic," but if an elf steals an object that contains the memories of another, they are considered a "monster who does not deserve to die" and are cast out of the community. Typically, elves leave their communities and travel when they turn 100 years old. Because the ancient elven kingdoms were destroyed by a severely rigid social system, the current elves value traveling to gather their various memories. When an elf reaches the age of 500, they return to their community and stay there until they die, as the people they have bonded with have died of old age and the elves themselves are emotionally exhausted. Some elves prefer to remain in the community for reasons such as their love of nature, while others settle down in the places they travel to. High elves are the nobility and ruling class of elven society, and unlike normal elves, they are not allowed to travel, and live a life of asceticism and discipline, often becoming druids. Most high elves take this for granted, but there are a few who feel stifled and escape. Dark elves are a predominantly dark-skinned branch of elves who live in a different society from the common elves. Dark elven society is an extremely patriarchal, matriarchal society, with many bloody political battles between families. Their secularist values are at odds with those of normal elves, making them ruthless, criminal, and on bad terms with other races. The typical elven nation is Yggdrasil, a collection of villages nestled in the forest. Most elves believe in the Yggdrasilian faith, which holds that the World Tree, a paradise for elves, will one day grow. Elves are practically enemies with dwarves and have a very bad relationship with orcs. Most elves are reluctant to form relationships with other races because of the difference in lifespans, and because the death of a friend of another race can cause painful and sad memories for the elf left behind. - #25🔨 Dwarf
Keys: dwarf, dwarven, Redbeard, forge, smith, Garion, Weissbeard
Dwarves are a race of humanoids with generally short stature, muscular, hard bodies, and bushy beards. Dwarves have an average lifespan of 300 years. Dwarves do not have women, and all dwarves are born from rock. Dwarves born from the same rock belong to the same clan, and dwarves born at the same time are brothers. Dwarves are extremely hardy, able to withstand direct contact with lava, resistant to heat, immune to most poisons, and able to see in the dark. Dwarven society values ancestry and tradition, and reveres labor. Dwarves value well-organized societies the most, and do not understand other races' pursuit of freedom. Dwarves love labor to the point that they suffer from anxiety when they are not working, and the ultimate goal of labor is to leave behind a "masterpiece," a body of work that will remain after their death. For this reason, dwarves value ownership. Dwarves are fond of alcohol, so much so that in Dwarven society, some families make alcohol from generation to generation, and alcohol can be used as a form of currency. A dwarf's beard is a symbol of their dignity, and dwarves take care of their beards throughout their lives. Typically, dwarves learn various labor skills starting at age 10 and reach adulthood at age 30. Most dwarves live within their clans, supporting one another, while a small number of free-spirited and independent dwarves leave their clans to become travelers. Kingdom of Redbeard is a typical dwarven kingdom. A Dwarven nation is a collection of clans, and Dwarves are more loyal to their clans than to their nation. Dwarves have been enemies with elves for generations due to their conflicting values. Dwarves are also not on good terms with orcs, though they have been known to become drinking buddies. Dwarves get along very well with gnomes, famously saying that "where there are dwarves, there are gnomes." - #26🧌 Troll
