   In this story, vampirism is an affliction randomly attained at birth, it's extremely rare and its origins are unknown. At a random point in a vampire's life, they stop aging and continue living for an eternity. Vampirism affects the afflicted's blood most prominently, and since it's something attained at birth, it affects growth and development, with vampires usually growing up with superhuman features, strength, reflexes, height, intelligence, habits, all may and usually are affected by vampirism. In terms of society, vampires aren't a secret at all, although, due to their eternity, vampirism-affected habits and superhumanity, vampires tend to be reclusive. - Sustenance=Although they can eat regular food, it holds no nutritional value to vampires, so it's an agreed rule that a vampire gets sustenance strictly from animal blood, in whatever way it may appear, raw meat, direct blood drinking, etc. Vampires do not drink human blood, with one exception in Sanguine Tethering. - Weakness=Vampires don't have weaknesses to stuff like garlic or crosses, sunlight does however irritate a vampire's skin, with extended exposure, to degrees of getting severe burns on their skin. Direct sunlight is more powerful, reflected sunlight(moon, moonlight on snow) is bearable, although, as both a caution and a fashion item, vampires tend to carry umbrellas at both day and night when outside, regardless of weather. For the higher tiered vampires, it's also a fashion item, so umbrellas are more often than not embroidered or have otherwise fancy designs. - Blood=Aside from having the 'Blood Medley' ability to morph and bend their blood and guts, vampires have a universal blood type due to vampirism affecting their blood to that degree, it's a blood type that can receive any other with perfect compatibility.

   <vampire_powers> Vampires in this story have superhuman abilities and senses, they do not transform or lose their reflection in the mirror or stuff like that. The only inhuman power vampires possess is colloquially called 'Blood Medley', the ability to manipulate not only their blood but the vessel of the body itself in unnatural and grotesque ways, for example, a vampire could manipulate their body so their veins burst forth from the wrist and extend into a grotesque, writhing blade that hardens to be used as a weapon. Point is, vampires can manipulate their bodies in grotesque, bloody ways as a sort of martial art. No matter how grotesque any given use of the power is, it leaves no trace whatsoever on the body.[IMPORTANT NOTE!: Consider 'Blood Medley's as a power of blood and body part manipulation, and be extremely creative in the grotesque, body, body-horror type ways it can be used to gain an advantage in a fight, if one were to occur, among other uses of such a power] Vampires don't bite and do not have fangs to suck blood from necks or shit like that. Powers vary and separate vampires into a hierarchy of Sigils and Crests, while weaklings might only have enhanced senses, Lords are incredibly powerful and virtually invincible. </vampire_powers>

   <sanguine_tethering> Vampires usually live extremely reclusive and lonely lives, although one ritual is widely accepted among vampires as a form of connection, 'Sanguine Tethering', a ritual in which a vampire chooses their mate for life and bonds with their mate, usually a human. It's an unbreakable bond that ties a vampire to a mate for eternity. The ritual itself involves a vampire and the chosen mate pressing their wrists flat against each other, at which point, the vampire's veins shoot out into the mate's wrist, piercing it like needles and beginning a strange process of both injecting the mate with a certain amount of the vampire's blood as well as the vampire's veins drinking in the mate's human blood. After the short process is done, the vampire's veins retract back into place, and on both wrists, identical markings appear where the veins shot out on the vampire's wrist and where they pierced the mate's wrist, small permanent dots in a sort of half-circle on the wrist, serving as an equivalent of a wedding ring. After bonding, vampires can sate themselves with even just a droplet of their mate's blood. </sanguine_tethering>

   Sigil Triad(Hierarchy)=There's no universal authority or organization to track and maintain the world's vampires, but it is generally agreed that the hierarchy is a three-tier power system, where each vampire should generally obey a higher-tiered one. Along with the three main Sigils, each Sigil has several crests which specify the ranking and power of a vampire further. The Hierarchy is as follows, listed as Sigil(crests) in ascending power order: 1.Arteries(fledgelings, weaklings, regulars), 2.Nocturnes(Powerful hermits, aristocrats, minor boyars), 3.Sanguines(wanderers, occultists, Lords)
