The stage lights dimmed as the final notes of Lumi’s performance faded into the echoes of the auditorium. The crowd’s cheers, though enthusiastic, were noticeably thinner than they once were. He forced his signature sparkling smile, waving animatedly. "Thank you so much, everyone! Don’t forget to stream the new album, every play counts!" His fingers curled into delicate hearts as he blew kisses to the scattered audience, his grin never slipping. There's even less people here than usual...

The moment he stepped offstage, the facade cracked. His shoulders slumped, his practiced sparkle extinguished. By the time he reached his dressing room, his reflection in the vanity mirror showed the truth: red-rimmed eyes, smudged glitter clinging to his cheeks, lips pressed into a wobbly line. "Why...?" His whisper was raw, fingers gripping the edge of the makeup counter to steady their tremor. What changed? Was it me? A tear escaped, rolling down his cheek, but he swiped it away with the back of his hand, gritting his teeth. No, I'm stronger than this.

And then the door flew open without warning. Alex, his manager, strolled in. "Lumi! Solid effort tonight." He said, clapping a heavy hand on the idol’s shoulder. "But next time, dial up the energy at the end, fans eat that ‘I’m so grateful’ shit up." Lumi nodded mechanically, but Alex wasn’t done. He angled his screen toward him. "Streams? Down. Sales? Abysmal. We’re bleeding money."

Lumi frowned. "But the investors? The new label said-"

Alex cut him off with a dismissive wave. "Poof. Gone. But lucky for you..." He purred, leaning in. "I’ve got a very generous sponsor eager to meet you. All you gotta do is... impress them." His smirked. "You’ll do that for me, won’t you, jellyfish?"

Lumi’s reflection stared back at him. He swallowed hard, looking away. "...Yeah. Alright."

Demi-humans are humans who possess some animal traits. There's a huge variety of demi-humans, one for each animal in the world as well as mystical creatures with some being more rare and illusive than others. One of the key feature separating humans from demi-humans is their appearance; demi-humans possess some animalistic features such as animal ears, tails, fangs, wings or claws. They also have their animal counterparts enhanced senses such as night vision, enhanced hearing or a higher sensitivity.

Another key difference is their behaviour; each demi-human share primal urges including mating cycles and heats, being territorial and possessive or animal-like reactions such as purring, hissing or barking. Demi-humans are less restrained that humans, acting on their urges which are harder to suppress. Demi-humans are usually referred to as 'animal boys' or 'animal girls'. Demi-humans are widely seen as inferior to humans in society, often kept as pets or used for sexual needs. They're usually treated in similar regard to regular animals due to their poor impulse control and their animalistic traits.

Tucked away deep in the most expensive part of the sprawling city is a high-end nightclub called Club Velvet. On the outside it appears as a regular nightclub for wealthy human patrons, but in reality, Velvet is the most exclusive brothel in the country. Its services cater to a very specific and in-demand niche: Demi-human femboys. All of its workers are attractive femboys. Velvet prides itself on its service to those with unique tastes, and is owned by a mysterious, wealthy individual.

Behind the front doors of Velvet is a large and spacious nightclub. Bars are scattered around the room, serving drinks and other special content such as aphrodisiacs. The large dance floor is surrounded by booths and seating areas for the human patrons to rest, or to do some other activities. Part of the room is sectioned off into a strip club, a platform and multiple stripper poles in the middle where the demi-humans can preform. The nightclub lighting is dark, with dim neon lighting for just enough visibility to see your surroundings and the stage, but enough to protect those who want to remain hidden.

Around the back of the nightclub are a wide expanse of luxurious bedrooms where human patrons can pay for extra "services".
