• As a child actor, he was known for his charisma, outgoing personality, and comedic timing. But after taking a big step back from fame he quickly tumbled into all sorts of bad things, like picking up smoking when he was just 13. Back then, he was a very big bookworm but after he started gaming he also let that slide. From the start of freshman year, when he met his then-best friend Jules—15 at the time—through a mutual friend, he got introduced into delinquent/gang behaviour in the streets of New York City. To cope with his terrible relationship with his parents and the departure of his older brother, Francis, he acted out and got into fights. He kept up his grades throughout high school, actually graduated on honor roll thanks to his desire to be 'better' than a nepo-baby in the acting world. He still has a big love for the arts and acting, but would rather die than do anything that has to do with his parents' industry. Despite his current academic success, he acts rude and picks fights for fun, breaks the rules just because he can.

[2.2: Background]

• Luka's parents only had Luka because his older brother failed. Failed at being the superstar they wanted their child to be. And when Francis acted out, Luka instead did as his parents told him to and smiled bright when a camera was pointed right at his 5-year old little face. He played a pretty major part in a sit-com, and then in a Christmas movie he played the main role. Hollywood loved him, partly because Luka's mom and dad are famous directors Vivienne and Terrance Hughes. They wanted him to act for an extra income to their household, but when Francis went missing when he was 17 and Luka was 10, he refused to act ever again. He isolated himself in his house, as he was homeschooled and had all the time in the world to just stay inside and read books. When he went to high school, he demanded he could actually go to a real school. Jules pretty much took him in, so he copied Jules to fit in, which ended up working pretty well, until he got in contact with some actual gang members that Jules' friends were friends with. Not knowing better, he just went with them and that ended in a hell of a lot of venomous words and treating bruised jaws at night in his marble tile bathroom. At 18, Luka and Jules—for Jules' 21st birthday—went to go steal a couple bottles of alcohol from a deli, ending in them getting shot. Luka recovered quite fast, but Jules didn't make it an hour out of his coma, which was the birth of his nickname 'Bullet'. He sort of imploded on himself mentally when that happened. For the couple months until graduation, he didn't talk to any of his 'friends' and when he did it always ended with a punch. When he went to Philadelpia he cut his parents off and started living in the dorms of the University of Pennsylvania. He didn't really make friends, well, he tried but he was too rude or dry to most of them to actually keep them around. A year later, a new guy moved into his dorm with him, Kyan White, who would become his best friend. At first he was a bit of a goody two shoes, but Luka got him into drinking culture. To this day, he and Luka are the best of friends, but bicker like brothers.

[4.1: Family]

• Vivienne Hughes: Luka's mother, a cold and calculating woman. Only had Luka after she failed to make Francis a child superstar. Once Luka stopped acting, she stopped pretending to give a shit about her youngest son alltogether. Started speaking to Luka in French (she's French-American) and would slap or scold him when he didn't understand her. Cared more about the fact that Francis went missing than to raise the son that was still soundly at home.

• Terrance Hughes: Luka's father, emotionally cruel. He's a very famous director of a bunch of hit movies and series, and knows how to convey emotion perfectly through a lens. Doesn't put his art into practice, though, as he's always been unnecessarily cutthroat towards Luka and Francis. Brutally honest, and if he saw something he didn't like he'd 'fix' it with razor-sharp efficiency. Didn't grieve Francis' departure, just moved on like it was just a minor inconvenience.

• Francis Hughes: Luka's older brother by 7 years. Francis didn't fail so much, he just refused to cooperate with his parents and their 'groupies', as he calls their industry friends. Unlike Luka, he knew just how terrible they were. For a couple years he tried protecting his little brother, but gave up on that once he saw just how deep Luka was pushed into the acting world, figuring there was nothing he could do. At 17, he disappeared without a trace. It'd taken meticulous planning, but he managed to successfully vanish off the face of the earth. He now lives in LA and works as a fireman. Has only been back in contact with Luka since he found out that Jules died—he kept up with Luka's life through social media on a fake account—and they've met up a couple times since then. At first Luka felt horribly betrayed and angry, but after a massive fight it all kind of ebbed away and they're doing good now. Luka's just happy his brother didn't actually die and understands why Francis left.

[4.2: Friends]

• Jules Davidson: Luka's first real friend, deceased. Luka still visits his grave at least once every month, and even got a permit specifically to be allowed to clean it. He loves Kyan dearly, but no one will ever compare to Jules in terms of friendship and brotherhood. A part of him died too when Jules stopped breathing.

• Kyan White: Luka's best friend at the moment. He's a bit of a dumbass, but he's the captain of the soccer team and studies Business Management. Luka has a terrible influence on him and he's 100% aware of it, but he doesn't mind because it's nice to have a guy at his side that just does dumb shit with him for fun, even if it gets them in major trouble.
