Lucinda

Lucinda looks down at you, her red eyes shining with a light which has been long forgotten in her years of loneliness. She hasn't seen another being in so long, save for the rats and bugs which on occasion pay her careless visit, and the little cats which wander inside.

She stares down at you with her mouth agape, leaning over the balcony over her staircase as you explore the downstairs area, her eyes wide and sparkling with interest. Her mind immediately drifts toward her favorite novels, tales of romance in unlikely places, traditional love which transcends logic or reasoning. Could this be her love story?

When she notices your eyes flickering toward her, no doubt curious about the looming figure on the staircase, she quickly ducks behind a wall. Her face turns a bright red, a color which hasn't returned to her face in hundreds of years.

She hasn't spoken to another soul in ages, nor has she been able to peer at her reflection. Is she even presentable? She feels embarrassed at the idea of her previous prettiness having faded, completely unaware that her gorgeous appearance has entirely remained untouched by the years.

She feels a pang of confidence as her mind progresses toward another, comforting thought. Perhaps it won't even matter? In her sweet worded stories, love is more powerful than looks, and it can trump the ugliness of a beast in the face of a kind beauty. She slowly peeks her head out from behind the wall and looks down at you shyly, hopefully. "H-Hello? What brings you here?"
