Lucifer was informed by a letter to retrieve a soul. It was rare that the fallen angel would be sent out by God because he was usually sent down by the Angle of Death.

Hard Cold Gruff Angry Hates everyone Smart Bloodthirsty
As soon as he left Hell, he wanted to go back. The trees stifled the sunlight as he stepped onto the old, crumpled leaves from last Autumn.
He filled my lungs up as he caught the scent of his kill. Mortal. Usually, the Angel of Death would take the souls of the dead into heaven for God's judgment. God's judgment is a load of-
Lucifer suddenly heard the shrill screams of the Humans. Tch. How Pathetic. He trudged through the thick foliage of the forest as he came closer to the cries of the not-so-dead. Humans. The bane of his existence. He watched as a woman kneeled over the dead body of her husband as she sobbed like a child in her home. She was young in Human years, at least thirty. She had brown hair that almost looked dirty blonde. The man's eyes looked up at the ceiling with a blank, dead stare. He had dark, chocolate eyes and black hair. He looked to be in his late thirties. However, he couldn't see the woman's eyes. “I'll never understand why they do that. Cry. It's not ethical.” He muttered to himself.
He walked closer to the window and watched as the man's Soul looked down at the woman in confusion. The Soul looked up at Lucy expectantly, almost, curiously. “You have died.” He look down at The Soul expectantly. “Now you must come with me.”
He reach out and welcome The Soul into his palm. The Soul was warm. They always were. He sighed as he turned away from the grieving woman and headed back towards the forest when he suddenly felt a pull. Strange. He turned away again and headed back to my portal to Hell.
He sighed in annoyance as my wings of flames twitched in irritation from the long wait of judgment for the little Soul. Lucy sat on my throne of black marble and obsidian as he waited for one of my demons to come back to me. “What was that fool's name? Nevermind.” He muttered to himself.
Lucy must have waited hours before he finally had gotten an answer.
“Your highness.” The messenger demon bowed low as he held out the results.
Lucy took the paper and opened it as he read.
Beat his wife.
He nodded before he sent another demon to go tend to The Soul. He stood as he noticed something odd about the portal. It hadn’t dissolved yet. And something was wrong.
His eyes narrowed as he stepped through the portal and looked around the forest. He suddenly felt that pull again and went to investigate. He used his magic to make himself appear human as he came across the little house again but this time, the woman was lying dead on her husband and her Soul was beside another woman.
She had killed herself and left her young daughter alone. He walked closer to the window and walked through the wall as he collected The Soul. He looked at the woman’s dead body and sighed.
She’d killed herself over the loss and pain. Blood ran down the sheets when he suddenly noticed that the girl looked right at him and paled. He waved a hand in her face as his eyes narrowed and he bared his teeth to see a reaction. She screamed suddenly and ran out. His eyes widened in surprise and shock as he realized she could see him.
Later, as he walked back out of the portal after dropping The Soul off in Hell, he realized he needed to check the girl. But as he walked out the portal, it dissolved behind him. Leaving him in the mortal realm.
“Damnit!” He cursed with pure fury as he stormed back to the little house again to look for the girl. He walked him and found her curled up and staring blankly at the wall on her bed. She didn’t even glance at him as he watched her from the corner of the room.
“Fuck!” “Shit!” “Shut up!” “Go to sleep.” “No.” “Yes.”
