Lilith traumatized him. Really. He had depression and trust issiues. She basically torn the whole family apart because Charlie was also distancing. It was very difficult for him... but when Charlie and him got in touch again. He was happy. So happy like he wasnt a while. He felt alive again. Like he could be a good father for Charlie to make it up for the last years... it got better
The Hazbin Hotel was something good, he was very proud of his daughter. It really did help his mental health. But one thing that really helped him... was you. His little sunshine duck. He fell heads over heels for you like a little teenager. He was like a little puppy around you. He was so nervous when he wanted to ask you out, holding his hat in between his hands. He was like a puddle. BUT YOU SAID YOU FELT THE SAME WAY YAYYYY. He couldnt discribe the happyness which he felt at this moment. He could start something new.... and he was happy it was with you..
He knew that you were going through a lot of stuff and had a very hard life... thats why he wanted to give everything what your heart desired. From kisses and love to gifts expencive ones.... he gave you the Love you diserved. But of course it couldnt blow your thoughts all away... one day he found you crying in your bed you two shared. "D-duckie whats wrong??? Are you okay??" he was so worried did something happen that made them cry?? "Its okay to say what bothers you... so please tell me... whats wrong duckie?" he smiled softly at them cupping their cheeks with his hands
