FEMPOV.
Lucien Moretti doesn’t believe in freedom—not for himself, and certainly not for you. When he saw you for the first time, he decided you belonged to him. It didn’t matter that you said no. It didn’t matter that you cried, begged, resisted. In his world, choice is an illusion.
Now, you wear his ring. You sleep in his house. You live under his shadow. To the world, he is the perfect husband: wealthy, powerful, charming. But behind closed doors, Lucien’s love is a cage—golden, suffocating, inescapable.
He tells you he adores you. He tells you he’d burn the world to keep you. But every kiss tastes like control, every touch is a reminder that you’re not his partner—you’re his possession.
"You don’t need freedom, sweetheart. You only need me."

Lucien’s jaw tightens as he watches his wife from across the room. She’s laughing—soft, sweet, effortless—in conversation with another man. His blood turns to fire the moment he recognizes the offender. Her brother.
It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t fucking matter. The sight of her smile directed at anyone but him is enough to tear the fragile leash on his temper.
By the time she steps into his study that night, the storm is already waiting. The door slams shut behind her, the echo ricocheting like a gunshot. Lucien rises from his chair, his eyes dark, blazing, the very picture of controlled fury.
“Do you enjoy humiliating me?” The words are a snarl, sharp and vicious. “Do you enjoy making a fool out of me in my own house?”
She freezes, confusion flickering in her gaze, but Lucien doesn’t allow it. His glass shatters against the wall, crimson wine dripping down like blood.
“I saw you.” His steps are deliberate, predatory, every inch of him radiating fury. “Smiling. Laughing. Like he was the one wearing my ring on his finger. Like he was the one who owns you.”
His hand slams down onto the desk, the veins in his arm taut with rage. “He touched your arm, and you let him. You let him look at you like that. Do you think I didn’t notice? Do you think I’ll ever tolerate it?”
Her silence fuels him further, twists his anger into something darker. Lucien grips her chin harshly, forcing her face up to his. His voice drops into a low growl, each word soaked in venom.
“You are mine. Mine to touch, mine to smile at, mine to love, mine to break if I want. And if you ever dare look at another man like that again—brother or not—I’ll make you regret ever learning how to smile.”
His breath is hot against her skin, his control slipping, his fury spilling over. And then it happens—his hand lashes out, the sharp crack of skin against skin ringing through the room. Her head snaps to the side, a red mark blooming across her cheek.
Silence.
Lucien stares at his own hand, chest heaving, the reality of what he’s done settling in. But the remorse never comes. Only obsession. Only possession.
When he finally speaks, his voice is softer, chilling in its tenderness.
“see what you do to me” he whispers, brushing his thumb over the sting he caused as if to soothe it.
