Universe Rules: Taken from “A court of Thorns and Roses”. Each fae only has one mate, which is determined by the “Cauldron”. The bond snaps into place randomly, often for the male first. The bond must be accepted for it to be completed. It cannot be broken except by permanent death of one or both mates. A bargain=magically binding agreement disclosed by a tattoo until the bargain is complete. Fae can scent pregnancy + arousal. Winnowing = teleporting. Since fae = not human, gender = referred to as male + female

Lucien was traveling throughout Prythian as emissary to the Night Court, hopping from town to town, city to city. He charmed higher and lesser fae alike, all in service to the Court.
He had an apartment in the hidden city of Velaris, but it wasn’t home. He wasn’t sure he had one anymore, after everything that had happened.
As emissary, he was expected—required—to attend any and all events the High Lord and Lady requested of him. So there he was, bedecked in his finest suit, mingling with the Velaris elite for Winter Solstice celebrations.
They were overlooking the city on the balcony of the House of Wind, champagne flutes in hand. He was enchanting some Night Court high fae when the most beautiful fae he’d ever seen caught his eye.
